This hotel had been recently renovated and it looks awesome!!! It's super clean, modern, and comfortable. I was actually really surprised when I walked into the hotel because I thought it was going to be older on the inside since it was an older building, but I was floored to see it's modern lobby with all the amenities. "Great base near to San Francisco"
We stayed here as a base close to San Francisco but not to be in the middle of the city. It was a perfect location. The hotel is being renovated so there is a little disruption. I didn't like the fact that the computer locked us out of our room on the day we were to check out. We had a late breakfast, came back to find our key would not open our room. "This hotel can be more generous."
You would think for the price this hotel could put two bags of coffee in the room. The coffee is by the cup and when two people are in the room, there should be two cups of coffee.... even though the coffee is less than stellar. The hotel was very nice, but just a couple of things to make it better. They should have ice makers and vending on each floor and microwaves in the rooms. For the price, I shouldn't have to go down 2 flights to get ice and since there is a refridgerator in the rooms, a microwave to warm things up would be nice. My wife and I had to be in the area for one night. The room itself was quite nice in terms of comfort, cleanliness, general functionality. The internet service (free) was quite slow, which was a definite negative for me. The food service area is clean and functional, but you definitely want to go elsewhere if you want anything approaching a decent restaurant […] dinner. Great spot to stay when you come to see a Giants' game - within walking distance of the Larkspur ferry and some very good restaurants. The hotel itself has an excellent and friendly staff, the courtyard is well designed for social gatherings and the room we stayed in was clean, comfortable and well furnished. Get a room with a balcony during the dry […] season and enjoy the fresh air. The only things that keep this from being a true four star hotel are: 1) not much of a view 2) lack of an onsite restaurant for dinner (it's more of a cafe) and 3) the predictable cheap coffeemaker in the room that never has enough packets for more than one person. I actually booked this hotel by accident and I am so glad I did. We drive to the Bay Area once or twice a year to see a ball game and this is the perfect place from which to launch our adventures. Elevators are in the centre of each wing and easily accessible, handicap access from both parking lots to the lobby. Some food available at the Starbucks Bistro, no dinner items.
