"Nearby for a quick in and out"
Overall the stay was fine. I appreciate that my room was ready in time for an early check-in since the weather was really bad and I wanted to get indoors. The bed was hard as a rock. Something bit my girlfriend, though I doubt it was the brown recluse spider I saw climbing the wall. The bathroom was large and clean, the TV small, but adequate. I was annoyed to learn that breakfast- on Sunday morning no less- ended just after 9 when I entered the lobby. I just wanted some juice, but none was to be had. […] Nor anything else. "Ehhh ok"
Stayed one night before heading further south. The area is quiet, in walking distance from Panama Grill(great seafood, 60+ year old karaoke on Thursdays) 7/11, gas station, beach etc. The front desk had plenty of info to provide in regards to the historic tours along with restaurant suggestions. The room unfortunately smelled like the inside of an uncleaned […] refrigerator, awful awful. We turned on the AC to attempt to eliminate the scent and that didnt work. One night stay we put up with it. The beds were ok, pillows felt like 4 pair of jeans bundled up in a pillow case. We checked out at 11:08am and were given a childlike reprimand for being 8 minutes late to checkout. Served its purpose for a one night stay. Don't expect more than that. "A nice bargain room in St. Augustine Beach"
The room was clean and the bed pretty comfortable in an inexpensive hotel with a good location, across A1A from beach access and a state owned area with pavilion, small tourist center, etc; Maybe a five minute walk to the beach. The sink counter tops and tub insert have been upgraded at some point in the past few years. The TV has lots of channels. […] The bath room is quite small. The front desk staff was pleasant. The a/c worked fine, and I had no problems with odors or noise. My only complaint is that the hot tub was air temperature, didn't have the heat function on yet as most people would not consider it needed in 80 degree October in Florida. I, however, would have liked the heat. Try out Margie's breakfast at the FA restaurant just north of the hotel. Only open Thurs-Sat with great deals on Thursday and Friday morning. It was nothing special, but it's fine for just needing a place to shower and sleep! It's literally right across the street from the beach (we could see the boardwalk from our room). "Just the basics!"
This is what you would call a "no frills" motel room; it had the basic necessities and nothing more. The bed was reasonably comfortable, too, which was a plus.
