Backed up against steep mountains, the Paul do Mar Aparthotel is a 60-studio oceanfront hotel isolated at the end of the road in the fishing village of Paul do Mar. The town of Calheta with its imported white sand beach is 3 miles west. Funchal Airport (FNC) is 40 miles away.
Hotel Features.
Outdoor and indoor heated freshwater pools, including a children's pool, provide year-round swimming. A complimentary health club includes sauna, steam room, spa tub, and rooms for massage, facials, and nail care for an additional charge. An onsite mini market sells wine and basic groceries. Paul do Mar Aparthotel has a meeting room equipped with audio-visual equipment. A computer station, Internet station, and complimentary wireless high-speed Internet is available for guests.
The restaurant One Season serves international cuisine dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, including locally-caught fish. The Afternoon Bar serves light fare, tea and drinks on the terrace. A pool bar offers drinks and snacks all day.
The hotel features three heated freshwater swimming pools: an outdoor pool with children's pool and an indoor pool. Guests can go fishing at the black sand and stone beach across the street. There is complimentary outdoor self parking available while staying at the hotel. Twice weekly, the hotel offers guided walking tours for an additional charge that include visits to local banana farms and vineyards. Yoga lessons for an additional charge are available in the village. Water sports are available on Calheta's beach.

There are 60 air-conditioned self-catering studios in a seven-story building facing the ocean. Decor is light and simple, with furnished balconies overlooking the ocean. Kitchenettes have two cooking stoves, microwaves, and refrigerators. Amenities include TV with international channels, safes for, and bathrooms with hair dryers. Complimentary cribs are available on request.

Pool Bar - Casual spot adjacent to pool deck. Ocean-view terrace with umbrella tables. Open daily from late morning to late night for sandwiches, salads, fruit juices, espresso coffees, drinks and ice cream.
Afternoon Bar - Lounge with additional seating at teak tables on terrace. Open for afternoon light fare, tea and evening cocktails.
The hotel features three heated freshwater swimming pools. The outdoor pool measures 66ft x 26ft and is surrounded by cushioned sun loungers. Adjacent is a 13 square foot children's pool. The health club includes a 32ft wide indoor pool.
Across the narrow street in front of the hotel is a 164ft black sand and stone beach protected by a concrete breakwater from which guests can go fishing. Twice weekly, the hotel offers guided walking tours for an additional charge that include visits to banana farms and vineyards in the village.
Yoga lessons are available at a village studio for an additional charge. Water sports are available in the town of Calheta, 3 miles east.

Lugnt läge med havsutsikt, berg att bestiga enkelt, uppvärmd inomhus- och bubbelpool som ungarna älskade, bra frukost med både frukter och varm mat, rent och alltid rikligt med varmt vatten i badkaret på rummet. Et stille og roligt hotel, hvilket også var det vi gerne ville ha. Værelset havde de forventede faciliteter mht. køkken fjernsyn etc. Dertil en fantastisk udsigt over havet. Personalet var imødekommende og hjælpsomme. Mht. hotellets restaurant kunne vi godt ha ønsket lidt mere på menukortet, da det er det eneste sted man kan spise i byen.
