I stayed here on business as all the hotel airports were full or way to expensive. For the money it was good value, the welcome and breakfast were great. Basically where to start. Firstly I would like to say the lady who owns the house was really nice. But.... From the outside and on the pics on the web it's looks ok, a nice farm house way out (yes a way) in the country. When I walked into porch I was greeted by a man who looked like a friendly builder and a nice lady who both greeted me albeit a little […] surprised IDE turned up (it was 930pm!) as IDE only just booked about 20mins before with them. I waa told to "please excuse the jumble of mess downstairs" as I was told they were sorting out stuff for a local jumble sale, fair one I thought. Then I was shown up a small set of homely stairs and right away I could see where this was going, yup I was staying over in someones home. As in, I'm in the guest bedroom and the lady is next door to me about 5m away....... Some people probably like this personal style of b and b, me? I prefer my privacy. Anyway the room? The floor was full of dog hairs, clumps of the stuff everywhere, even in and on the bed! Looks like the landlady could have run a Hoover over the place before IDE got there! Then the 'shared bathroom', which had the worlds worst shower, yup hot for 1 min cold the next, so I was cooked alive (boiled) and living with the Eskimos the next. The teabags had been warmed up naturally in the Tupperware they been sat in for a couple of weeks and I enjoyed plastic brews (1!) and the bed was the only saving grace about my stay....needless to say I snuck out before the lady had time to put my breakfast on...... I feel sorry for the lady writing this as I feel she meant well, I saw family pics up which made me safe and welcome. I just think there is no excuse for a lack of cleaniness and her home just needs some renovations doing to it to get a decent b&b up and running, I'm sure shell get there one day - sorry dont mean to sounds patronising....
