Idyllic 17th century Coaching Inn
We do welcome well-behaved dogs on a lead on the slated area in the bar, and in 2 of our Lakeland Bedrooms which are located on the ground floor of the annex.We offer WiFi access for all guests in the bar area and most bedrooms, but unfortunately it is not currently available in our annex.There are games available in all our bedrooms for the "older" children and also toys and games available for the younger ones in our bar and restaurant area, just ask a member of staff for help!

This place has a secret. But not for long because when the word gets out about The Queen’s Head bedrooms, their attraction could rival the food. "Gastropub in beautiful location."
"olde worlde" hotel, lots of dark carved wood. Room was big on cushions and dressed teddies. Nice view from window, and plenty of beautiful countryside all around. "Queens Head Hotel, Cumbria"
The hotel/pub is gorgeous. Will definitely stay there again. Food is a bit pricey but it saves you travelling further afield. We got the tariff at a good discounted rate which was suitable for our purposes and the facilities provided. I would not stay there at their normal full rate as I don't think it would be value for money. The room we had was in […] the adjacent converted barn but was smaller than expected. A very nice, character hotel well placed for Troutbeck and area. Excellent service and food. Room was charming but small, with nice personal touches and a very modern en suite, , cat swinging would have been difficult!! The inn is lovely and the staff were, without exception, very friendly and welcoming. The food was good quality and beautifully presented too. Personally we found the teddies and dog in the room a bit twee but that's a matter of taste. We found it easy to get everywhere from there - short journey to both Windermere and Ambleside. Great choice of real ales and lagers and very good 'gastro pub' type food. Maybelimited choice for a fussy eater but we were well satisfied and ate there on both nights of our stay and enjoyed it thoroughly.
