"Exceedingly Nice"
Minor observation (not a complaint) in that the restaurant menu was not very imaginative and some of the staff were quite young and not up to speed. Unfortunately although I was unable to make full use of them, the amenities were excellent. "Nice Location, pleasant atmosphere"
Not bad value at all I paid £39 for my stay and feel that they could charge a lot more if standards were kept abit higher! Extra care must be given to cleaning as these are old buildings and although very clean ad comfortable in general, there where certain areas that required abit of attention. We came here for a good value weekend. Its a pleasant hotel in a nice countryside location but what really stood out was how helpful all staff were. We have stayed in a number of De Vere hotels and enjoyed every one of them in varying degrees. This one is our favourite by a long way, a beautiful old manor with modern comforts situated in a stunning environment by the Chess Valley. It was with some consternation that I saw that the overall rating for this gem was only two out of five. I arrived ahead of normal checking in time and was given prompt assistance by courteous and professional staff who took the time to listen to my queries and gave much better advice and more assistance, than I could reasonably have expected. Overall we had a great stay in this hotel. It is set in wonderful grounds with plenty of parking.The main house is old and characterful. There are other parts to this hotel which are less old, however, given that the cost of my nights stay was low, I did not have expectations that I would be given one of their higher end rooms.
