"Close to Pompeii gate"
This was a fine hotel, however it was far from it's four star rating. The staff was friendly and the room was fine. The location was close to the back gate for the Pompeii ruins, which meant that we didn't have to deal with the crowds at the main gate or the throngs of guides wanting to provide us tour services. The Amleto is a lovely hotel, close to the entrance for the ruins.You feel completely safe around the hotel and it is in an excellent position for siteseeing and also the town's main square and lovely church. "So close to Pompeii"
I could not recommend this hotel enough! The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble - their english was great. The breakfast was delicious and the hotel and the room was extremely clean and tidy. I stayed for two weeks, and during that time I was extremely well looked after by the staff! As for site seeing....the hotel is literally […] a five minutes walk from Pompeii. If you want to visit other sites such as Herculaneum, the train station is about a 20-25 minute walk away. The only problem was that the hotel is very close to the main square in Pompei, which means it can be noisy at night. However, if like me, you are exhausted from walking around all the sites all day, the noise doesn't disturb you really.
