One of Europe's most important archeological sites, the ancient city of Pompei contains the ruins of the city buried when Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD, giving visitors the chance to walk through an almost perfectly preserved ancient city. In the Campania region not far from Naples, it is also very close to the town of Herculaneum, also with beautiful preserved ruins.see all hotels in Pompeii
"Convienent and close to Pompei ruins"
Great location, cross the street from one of the entrances to the Pompei ruins. The room was spacious clean and overlooked the court yard. it's only a short walk to several good restaurants and souvenir shops. Since we were driving a great asset was the free parking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel, great location, excellent staff. Gaetano was extremely helpful and went the extra mile to make our stay the best. We spent two weeks in Italy and visited 7 different hotels; this was the best.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Across from ruins"
This hotel is directly across from the entrance to the ruins of Pompeii. Very convenient.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very convenient to ruins"
This hotel is right across the street from the Pompeii ruins, therefore very convenient. The hotel itself could use a bit of updating. It's clean, but our room was fairly small and the furnishings were sort of old and dated. But, we didn't spend all that much time in the room! I will add that we ate at two very good restaurants, both within walking […] distance. The first was La Bettola Del Gusto and the second was Garum--it was probably the better of the two, but I'd recommend both highly. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The location is great for a visit to Pompei. The staff was friendly and helpful. The lobby, breakfast area, and gardens around the hotel were very nice. I had read numerous reviews about the spacious rooms, but we must have gotten the worst room in the hotel. It was so small that you could bearly get around the bed, and there was no place to put a suitcase. […] We had to open our suitcases on the bed, get what we needed out, repack, and try to stand the suitcases in a corner (still in the way). The bed was also very hard and uncomfortable. The room would get a 1 star in the US. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed here for a night and definetly enjoyed our stay. This hotel is clean, with a beautiful garden, comfy beds, and amazing customer service. I would stay here again. Thinking back, we wish that we stayed here longer. Another awesome part about this hotel is that it is right across the street from an entrance to the Ruins!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Location and Superb breakfast included."
The location and breakfast were superb. The bed was not that comfortable. It was two twin mattress jammed together. No refrigerator in room. Price was reasonable considering the location. Would certainly stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
The location is great, right across the street from the entrance to the ruins. The staff was friendly. The room left a lot to be desired, first they gave us a tiny room that stank of cigarette, although, it was non-smoking?? They gave us the room next to it which was bigger and seemed ok. However, the heater barely worked and the room was mostly cold […] and seemed damped. For the price we could have done better elsewhere but we had prepaid... Overall I give it 3 stars for the location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good place to stay"

"I will stay here again if i return to Pompeii"
If I am willing to stay at a hotel on a return trip, that is my statement with regard to the facility, service, etc. The staff were fantastic and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Pompeii. Do not expect a huge room or American standards - this is Pompeii near Vesuvius which is still an active volcano. You cannot go wrong with this hotel, […] it's knowledgeable staff, the great location and with moderate pricing. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect for Pompeii"
Staff very friendly and can speak most any major language. Close to Pompeii ruins. Also staff recommended local places to eat that were outstanding. Recommend staying here rather than in Naples. New Pompeii small and manageable. Train service and local metro available. Safe environment too. Good breakfast to get you started.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The location is excellent for visiting the Pompei ruins. The garden is lovely, and we enjoyed an excellent breakfast there. Even though it faces a busy street, the hotel was delightfully quiet. We were pleased with the quality for the price.Genuine Expedia guest review
Beautiful hotel steps from the ruins of Pompeii. Breakfast was served in a cute courtyard. Staff was very helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
I would stay here againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff was extremely helpful. The room was just average but thid was fine because we were only there for 1 night to see pompeii excavation site. The entrace the hotel is closest to is not the best one, instead you should walk 15 minutes to the porta marina entrance where you can get audioguides, tour guides, and more info. But overall the location […] was good enough for our needs. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Forum Hotel."
Overall a very good hotel. Could not be more convenient if visiting the site of Pompeii. The entrance is just 40yards away. The staff were freindly and for the most part spoke English. Breakfast was the usual continental fare. My only real negative mark goes towards the internet coverage. Wi-fi was free, a plus of course, but the coverage in the room […] was non existant. The speed of the connection for the computer in the lobby was poor to say the least. Eventually had to give up trying to book my next hotel with Expedia, after 45 minutes of frustration. "Cozy boutique hotel, convenient location"
Nice, cozy hotel a short walk from Pompei Santuario station and right across from one of the entrances to Ancient Pompei. The woman at reception was very nice and helpful. The complimentary afternoon snacks of olives, peanuts, corn nuts, bread sticks, panini, salami and ham sandwich skewers, orange slices, strawberries, etc. was a godsend after a long […] day of traveling from Rome. The gardens are also lovely to sit in with all the fruit trees. Breakfast (included) was also great, with lots of variety. While the room (we had 41) has a bit of an 80's feel with all the formica, it's clean and well appointed with a balcony. Nice complementary toiletries, too! We'd go back. "Pleasantly surprised (thank you Roberta!)"
We had a wonderful stay during our quick trip to Pompei. The room was quiet and clean and very close to the entrance to the ruins. We found a terrific restaraunt just past the plaza, after the fountain, for dinner. Order the appetizer special. Breakfast was perfect, outside on a patio in the garden with lemon trees overhead. It was really unexpected. […] The courtyard/entrance area was beautiful with tables and chairs, grapes of all varieties hung above and citrus and pepper plants in pots. Roberta gave us some help with an email and fax for us, her good Engish was very helpful to us. She is a great asset to the hotel! If we return to Pompei we would definatly stay there again. "Hotel Forum Pompeii - perfect location"
We stayed two nights at the Hotel Forum in Pompeii and were very pleased. The location is perfect -- just yards from the amphitheater entrance, which is a quieter entrance with no crowds or wait. I strongly suggest visiting the ruins at the end of the day - if you are at the gate before 6pm you can stay until 7.30 or so without crowds and enjoy the […] late day light and cooler weather. The staff at the Forum was very helpful. They validate parking right across the street, and recommended an excellent restaurant nearby, the President, where Forum guests are offered a discount. With or without the discount it was the best place to eat in town. They gave accurate information about visiting Paestum as well. The breakfast buffet in the garden was very pleasant. We stayed in a Junior Suite, which was really more of a large room. If budget permits I think they are worth it - with 54 and 56 the best ones. The rooms that overlook the street are the best, and the windows are thickly glazed so there was no sound issue. Softer pillows would be my only suggestion. All in all the Forum is well located, attractive and very convenient for visiting the ruins at Pompeii, and an excellent jumping off spot for exploring the other nearby sites such as Herculaneum and Paestum. It is nice to be able to walk around the central square in Pompeii and the large church which is its focal point. I did not see any other hotels in Pompeii which would compete. "Great place great location"
Conveniently located near the train station (~5 minute walk) and right near one of the entrances to the ruins. Breakfast was very nice, rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. "If you go to Pompeii Stay Here!"
Very, very nice hotel. Great value for money (in Italy). Best hotel in Pompeii-ruins area. Across the street from Pompeii ruins, charming hotel, very helpful staff (restaurants - not many in Pompeii, directions). Would definitely stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel Forum needs some loving care"
The hotel is convenient to the historical sites. The basic room has very thin walls and you can hear every thing going on around you. Breakfast is very good by Italian standards. Free parking is an excellent perk. The staff was helpful and welcoming.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect Hotel Perfect Location"
Impeccable accommodations, warm and welcoming staff (all speaking excellent English), wonderful breakfast buffet. Just a very short walk to the entrance of the Pompeii ruins.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel Forum was a good location if you are going to Pompei to see the ruins. About 1 block from the hotel is the southeast entrance to the ruins. That is convenient. If you want an audio guide or a tour guide, you will have to walk to the western entrance. The city of Pompei and the location of the hotel wasn't in such great condition. We are world […] travelers and decided that besides the ruins, there wasn't much we wanted to venture out to see in our one day there due to the area of town. The hotel itself was fine. The lobby has internet and a little bar area that serves sandwiches. The staff is friendly. The hotel breakfast was one of the better ones we had during our stay in Italy. It also has a nice outside area where you can sit under orange trees and use the free wifi. It was a bit noisy at night, but not too bad. If you are looking for a hotel near the ruins for a good price, we would recommend this one. Parking is free, but across the street from the hotel. It's sort of hard to find the hotel sign, so keep your eyes on the lookout when searching for it. It's right across from a parking area. Easy to miss because it's nestled within the block of buildings. We saw several couples from around the world at this hotel, and they were all visiting to see the ruins. Good price for a good location, if the ruins is all you want to see there in Pompei. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Beautiful room, decent location"
We made a one day stop in this hotel to visit Pompeii. We weren't disappointed with our choice. The hotel was right across the street from one of the entrances to the ruins, and about a 10 minute walk from the Pompei Scavi Circumvesuviana train station. The room itself was beautiful, with gorgeous high ceilings. It was much larger than expected. Although […] we were on the lowest floor, next to the roadway, it was still very quiet. The room was outfitted with modern fixtures, lighting, and furniture. Checking in and out was quick and the service was friendly. We ate at the breakfast buffet in the morning, and it had a wide selection of delicious food to suit our tastes. For a quick stop in Pompeii, we definitely recommend this hotel. "A lovely place to stay"
The Hotel Forum was situated right opposite the entrance to the archaeological site. "Great location for the ruins."
Had a very nice stay for a couple of nights. Despite being a very good value and excellent location hotel, it wasn't very busy. The room we had was great, but in need of minor maintenance on the shower, and it was directly behind reception so was a little noisy during the day. "Definitely worth staying in Pompei"
Lovely hotel near the center of town, though not quite as close to the train station as you might be led to believe - it's a 15-20 minute walk, but an easy one. Staff was very helpful - they steered me toward a place to eat that had the best pasta I've ever had - I took some people I met in the lobby bar there […] the next night! "Good location but don't expect a warm welcome"
This hotel is in a great location for the site of old Pompeii and it was a very comfortable hotel with a great breakfast. The major downside for me was the feeling that the staff didn't really care about the guests. They were helpful when asked for information but generally we were not made to feel welcome and felt we were interrupting them when asking […] for something or simply handing in our key on the way out. They could also do with more staff at breakfast as they regularly ran out of coffee, eggs, milk, etc especially when hotel was quite full. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great hotel all round"
The staff arranged our airport transfers which were prompt, friendly & efficient. When we arrived they couldn't have been more helpful. The reception staff went the extra mile to help us arrange our days making sure we didn't spend money unnecessarily, even helping us to get to Vesuvius when there was a transport strike. Breakfast was simple though […] generous. Our room had a view of Vesuvius over the ruins- stunning. "Great for early access to the ruins"
Location excellent - short walk to back entrance of Pompeii ruins - by going in at 9-00am we had the ruins to ourselves for at least 30 minutes which was an amaxing experience - try the Amphitheatre echo out! Located on a busy street but room was quiet. Good view from balcony. Room was clean but a little 'tired' but more than adequate for us. We missed […] the presence of a bar/lounge - whilst there was a lounge dining room it was not somewhere you could sit, have a drink and relax. Gardens were OK for this when it was warm enough. Gardens were a little unkempt and overgrown - probably not an issue in the summer as the weeds would be dead! Breakfast usual european style buffet adequate but repetitious - again not an issue on a short stay. Eat once in the restaurant - on the evening we arrived. Ate on our own in the empty room - food OK but we didnt eat there again much better options available within walking distance try La Bettola Del Gusto. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Fantastic hotel when visiting Pompei"
This was an excellent find. The location was superb, right outside one of the entrances for the archaeological site. The hotel had real character and had tasteful decor. The room was well furnished and we looked out onto the main street, but could hear no noise. There was also a balcony which provided a view of Vesuvius. The breakfast room was overlooking […] the garden/courtyard where orange and lemon trees were laden with fruit. The breakfast was plentiful. The free car park over the road was great as we could leave the car there overnight and whilst visiting the ruins. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel when visiting Pompei.
