It was a nice little getaway for me and my son from Sunday to Tuesday. The staff was pleasant and it was in the middle of a lot of places to eat. We even were not that far from a couple of malls. Super hotel, the only reason I'm giving them a 4 is because I had to wait at the airport for 55 minutes for pick up. They only run on the hour, something their page on Expedia didn't list. Okay it was my fault for not checking directly with the hotel and not having my cellphone didn't help. "Service with a snarl"
First of all, the hotel should definitely let you know that the shuttle runs once per hour. It is about four miles from the Miami airport, and turns out to be a $30 taxi ride. You then end up in the middle of a strip mall, near a gas station and a lackluster sushi restaurant. The attendants only recommend the hotel's restaurant, indicating there is […] nothing much else around (the sushi place is okay...). And then, if you ask why there is only one shuttle per hour, and you ask for any recompense for even "high-speed" Internet, you are met with "No." If you ask why or why not, you will receive a consistent "It is hotel policy," dripping with scorn. When one says, "I won't stay here again." You may indeed receive, "Good." You may also find that other guests have a similar experience. Beyond the poor service, the hotel itself is really only passable (especially for an Intercontinental), and with all of the options available to travelers around the Miami airport (many, in fact, closer, better priced and with more regular airport shuttles), this hotel is not a very good option, and I would strongly recommend against it. When checking out, I was told that I had a $39 charge for using the internet that same day in the morning. I told them I definitely didn't use or accessed any data to their website in order to use that service. They didn't believe me, kept staring at me like I was a thief and said that someone had to put my entire last name to access.
