"Not near Newcastle under lyme"
The hotel is listed as Newcastle under lyme but was at least 15 minutes into the countryside from the town.The location was nice but created an extra twenty minute or so drive for me.The rooms were clean and comfortable to an old but good standard.shower was hot and the food in th bar next door was very good .there is no lift so dragging luggage up […] stairs is a pain.If you want a nice quiet hotel in the country this is a very good hotel. Found the room to be very spacious and comfortable, large separate bathroom with powerful shower. Some slight signs of wear but only to be expected with constant use. Found all staff to be warm and friendly, and freely willing to engage in conversation or give advice on both the Hotel and surroundings. "Nice country pub"
Stayed for one night on a business trip and chose the hotel as it was close to a colleagues house. It's a nice country pub with a hotel added on, pretty location and very rural. I arrived to find nobody in the hotel reception, after about ten minutes I walked over to the pub where they had all my details....a little sign advising your guests to go to […] the pub would save ten frustrating minutes please.
