A group of 12 from nearby Guayabitos recently spent 2 nights at the Riu Jalisco. We took advantage of low September rates and had a great time. There... was some confusion on making reservations for the ala carte restaurants but really, that was the only "negative" about our getaway. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make sure our stay was pleasant. Having stayed at all inclusives before, we all knew to tip the staff for better service. Riu Jalisco All Inclusive includes two heated pools surrounded by expansive sundecks furnished with padded lounge chairs and thatched-roof palapas. A free-form family pool measuring approximately 55 by 55 meters (60 by 60 yards) features a rock-bordered 20-person jetted section and a rock-garden island with three 3.75-meter (12-foot) water slides. The other pool measuring approximately 59.5 by 59.5 meters (65 by 65 yards) features a swim-up bar, a shallow section for lounge chairs, and a 40-person jetted section.

The resort's 150-meter (164-yard) section of the mile-long beach extending along Banderas Bay's north shore is dotted with palm trees. The resort supplies beach towels, loungers, boogie boards, kayaks, windsurfers, pedal boats, Hobie Cat sailboats, and snorkeling gear. For surcharges, independent operators offer horseback riding, personal watercraft, banana-boat rides, and parasailing on the beach and scuba-diving instruction in the pool.

Land sports at this Nuevo Vallarta resort include rifle shooting, croquet, bocce, horseshoes, basketball, beach soccer and volleyball, and tennis on two lighted courses.

Flamingos golf course 1.5 km (1 mi) away provides discounts to resort guests. El Tigre golf course is 4.5 km (2.75 mi) away, and Mayan Palace golf course 5 km (3 mi).

The hotel's food was horrible. At an all-inclusive resort, I'd say its very important that you enjoy the food you have alreayd paid for and need to eat. The rooms were o.k., but the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The pools were nice and the beach was great. But i would have prefered to be at one of the nicer neighboring Riu's.

Excellent service. Great entertainment and great selection of food, with intrically designed food scupltures. Well-maintained property and expansive courtyard. Other travelers who had been to other properties said in comparison, Riu Jalisco was the best. This being our first trip to Mexico, we were extremely satisified with the value and services.

la atención de personal es magnifica tanto con el turismo nacional como con el extranjero. Las instalaciones en buen estado y la calidad de su comida es muy muy buena esceptuando los postres, que dejan un poquito que desear, pero en cuantolo demás Riu Jalisco es una buena opción para vacasionar.
