I really enjoyed my stay here mainly for two reasons: the location - which is walking distance to the marina/downtown area where all the restaurants/bars/activities... are and the private beach which has the most amazing sunsets and the hammocks were soo comfy. We pretty much almost had the beach to ourselves which was fantastic since there are no solicitors to bother you like at Playa Medano. The hotel and Cabo itself were pretty empty. We initially had the newer rooms overlooking the Marina but those rooms were too small. We were able to change to a huge room with ocean and pool view, but the decor is older and there is a slight musty smell from the air conditioner but it didn't bother me that much, esp since there was sooo much more room. A few cons: the hotel is on top of a small hill so we'd have to walk up & down that everyday but it wasn't too bad & they do offer shuttle for the driveway. The pools aren't heated and only one jacuzzi was working at the time. But overall, great stay and would recommend to friends! by a Hotels.com guest on 01/24/12

Hotel Features.
Sandos Finisterra Los Cabos All Inclusive Resort offers a variety of services for guest convenience including a car rental desk, grocery/convenience store, gift shop, computer station, technology support staff, and babysitting services. Upon arrival, guests receive a complimentary cocktail. The resort offers daily activities including cooking, bartending and Spanish classes as well as supervised child care/activities (surcharge). The concierge can arrange offsite activities like golf, fish, and boat excursions. Or guests can relax out on the patio, terrace or on the rooftop terrace. Satisfying dining options include seafood specialties at Blue Marlin and poolside dining at Palapa Beach Club Bar & Grill. The Whale Watcher Bar offers a spectacular view and is an excellent area for informal gatherings. Palapita Events Center is recommended for receptions, dinners, and parties. At approximately 3,200 square feet (297 square meters), the Palapita is a glass-walled, circular enclosure near a glistening pool. While swimming in the adjacent Pacific Ocean is strongly discouraged due to strong undertows, the property features 3 freeform pool complexes and 4 outdoor hot tubs. The lower-level pool is 53.25 meters long with a children's area. The mid-level pool complex features a 35-meter long pool with a swim-up bar, while the upper-level complex includes an unheated 38-meter long pool. 4 outdoor spa tubs are also available. Safe swimming and water sports are available at Médano Beach on the Sea of Cortez 1 mile (1.5 kilometer) away, which is easily reachable on foot or by water taxi.

Guestrooms.
The resort offers 200 air-conditioned guestrooms. All rooms offer a furnished balcony with ocean, city or beach views. Amenities include ceiling fan, desk, phone, and 39" flat-screen TV (HD-capable) with satellite TV, ESPN, HBO and other premium channels. Other amenities include minibar, coffee/tea maker, in-room safe, and private bathroom with shower/tub combination. Connecting/adjoining rooms are available on request. A renovation of all guestrooms was completed in January 2011.

Don Diego Restaurant - Serves international cuisine for breakfast and dinner, offering alfresco dining with ocean and city views. Guests can also enjoy a drink in the bar.

The Blue Marlin - Air-conditioned restaurant located atop a cliff in the resort's original section, featuring stained-glass window panels, glass ceiling sculptures, mounted 1,200-pound Blue Marlin. Rock waterfall outside. A la carte breakfast available (surcharge). Dinner menu with choices such as steak, lamb shanks, roasted duck with Grand Marnier sauce, shrimp with garlic-tequila sauce, grilled salmon with ginger-honey glaze.

Palapa Beach Club Bar & Grill - Casual, beachfront, open-air restaurant under towering thatched-roof. Swim-up bar. Sports on TVs. Bar service early morning to late evening. Food service mid-morning to early evening. Appetizers, ceviche, salads, sandwiches, burgers, fajitas, tacos, burritos. Complimentary wireless Internet access.

Whale Watcher Bar - Cliff top, air-conditioned bar/lounge with terrace offering panoramic ocean views. Wood-burning fireplace within curved wall covered with hammered copper. Leather chairs, plump sofas, TVs. Open mid-morning through late dinner time for bar service. Lunch menu offering oysters, shrimp, sandwiches, burgers, tacos, pizza.

Tortuga Beach - This beachfront restaurant and bar serves local cuisine and offers light fare, appetizers, lunch and dinner and the option of alfresco dining. Enjoy a drink on the patio during Tortuga's happy hour with ocean and pool views.

Agave - This seafood restaurant and bar sits poolside on the beachfront offering alfresco dining. Agave serves light fare, lunch, happy hour, drinks, appetizers, dinner and has a children's menu.

CupCake Cafe - Serves breakfast, light fare, lunch, happy hour and dinner. Afternoon tea is also served and a children's menu is available for convenience. Guests will enjoy alfresco dining with ocean and city views.

Recreation

3 freeform pool complexes are arrayed on terraces to the beach. The lower-level complex comprises a 175-foot (53.25-meter) pool containing a shallow children's area. The mid-level complex consists of a 115-foot (35-meter) pool with swim-up bar, and the upper-level complex has an unheated, 125-foot (38-meter) pool. 4 outdoor spa tubs are also available.

Sandos Finisterra Los Cabos All Inclusive Resort lies on an enormous Pacific Ocean beach fringing the Baja Peninsula's tip. Although it's ideal for strolling and observing sea life, the beach is not safe for swimming because of strong undertows. Safe swimming and water sports are available at Médano Beach on the Sea of Cortez, 1 mile (1.5 kilometer) away, which is easily reachable on foot or by water taxi. Whale-watching excursions are available from Cabo San Lucas during the January-March migration of gray whales.

Use of 2 lighted tennis courts is complimentary during the day, with a surcharge for after-dark play. Distances to Los Cabos' principal golf courses are: the Raven Golf Club 2.25 miles (3.5 kilometers); Cabo del Sol golf courses 7.25 miles (11.5 kilometers); Cabo Real Golf Course 13.5 miles (21.5 kilometers); Palmilla Golf Course 17.25 miles (27.5 kilometers).

One of the few places with free WiFi in bars and restaurants. Reasonable prices and choice of rooms with either ocean or harbor views. Love the palapa and Blue Marlin for eating. The fish cerviche is great as is the jicama, orange and cuke salad. Lovely staff.

Overall a true example of Mexican hospitality. Great location, rooms, restaurant, beach, architecture. It is a true resort that is full service. The view is spectacular, particularly at the restaurant that is atop on the rocky hill. I felt super secure, even on these violent times in Mexico, they had their stuff together here. The price was great […] too compared to other big names. It is well within walking distance to the main marina and their shops, restaurants. 3 things they could work on (I use lodging 200+ days/yr) so I may be nit-picking now: 1-The room towels are outdated, washed too many times. 2-No wifi in the rooms, although they tell you that you may get reception from the pool bar, it doesn't happen, the restaurant in top of the hill does not have wifi either. 3-The Whale watcher Restaurant service is slow, but then again, I didn't mind with the beautiful view. I was dismayed at how much this hotel has declined since I was here last. The swimming pools were dirty and it appeared the suction cleaners were not operating. Also the jacuzzi pools were not operating and there were no pool waiters walking around to take any drink orders.
