On the highest point above the caldera, Imeroviglio was originally founded as a lookout point to defend the island against pirates. Today, its luxury apartments set in gardens with pools make it popular with couples as a quiet, romantic getaway, though it is fast being developed. A lovely three-kilometre path along the cliffs leads to Thira, where those in search of the bright lights will find souvenir shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs.

"Great place for our short vacation"
This was a short trip for Easter before heading to Ireland for a week of traveling. It is a very relaxed atmosphere at the hotel and the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The pool is very nice- although we didn't use it, the lounge chairs are massive and very nice to lay out on, and the breakfast at this place is amazing. We stayed here right […] before the tourist season really kicked off (Easter weekend) and found it to be particularly cold, in the low 60's and upper 50's with very strong winds. The room was quite chilly and no matter how high we raised the heat just couldn't get it that warm. I'm sure staying when there is nice warm weather would be great. The rooms were extremely large and clean. I believe we had one of the smallest villa's and it had a nice patio, a large sitting room with table and couch, and a nice sized bedroom. Plenty of room for the two of us and even up to 4 guests. The bathroom was very clean and the provided little packages of whatever you may need from a shower loofa to a shaving razor. It was also nice that the reception provided pool towels and had a very large collection of DVD's for guests to watch in the rooms at night. As another review has stated this hotel is not in Imerovigli so if you're expecting to stay there this isn't the hotel for you. It was also a big pricey even though we went before the peak crowds hit and I know it's all about "location" up there but I'm sure you could find something just as lovely for a better price. "Excellent view and sunset"
We stayed here by accident as we needed to book one night extra. It was fantastic. Great pool. Amazing view. Excellent food. Our main trip was in Rocabella next door, but the food at Xenones Filatera was excellent, so we kept coming back for our main meals. The hotel is smallish, which means it was a good number of couples, and not over crowded. The […] bar staff were very attentive, and made extra effort for me being gluten free. "Great hotel with a magnificent view"
Love everything there is about this hotel, unforgettable view from the pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful, food was excellent. In fact I found the food better value for money than eating from the outside, because of its quality and view of the sea. This is a perfect place for couple and perfect for a romantic break. The only thing I believe […] you need to be aware of is that you need to takea bus to anywhere you want to go, and you have to walk on the road to reach the bus stop which from my view is quite dangerous as it is in the mid way of a turn. "meglio di una cartolina"
Defilato rispetto ai paesi principali, la fermata del bus è vicinissima, ma i bus sono sempre pieni, meglio organizzarsi autonomamente. La posizione proprio perché fuori dai paesi è tranquilla con un panorama mozzafiato, la terrazza piscina è ampia, ordinata e pulita, la piscina gradevole e sufficientemente ampia per nuotare. il sevizio bar e ristorante […] è buono e per Santorini è conveniente. Oltre al meraviglioso panorama si gode di una vista tramonto incantevole.
