We arrived in Patras on the overnight ferry from Venice and went straight to our hotel. What a wonderful experience awaited us. The hotel is an old... mansion that has been renovated and redecorated in its original style. Fresco's on the walls, a huge bed with cherubs painted on the wall above, a fire place with candles set in it, a view of the mall below. Even a dumb waiter to take our cases upstairs. Disadvantages were no lift and no staff based in this hotel building. The hotel is managed by the Byzntium Hotel across the street and meals, etc are there.
