Floating in the misty fens, this beautiful university city attracts hordes of visitors to its gothic spires, shady cloisters and wide open parks. In the summer, sun seekers punt along the Cam or picnic under the willows that line its banks. Strawberry Fair free music festival takes place early in June and the city's famous folk festival is in July. The view from Castle Hill is worth the climb.see all hotels in Cambridge
Reception staff were friendly, breakfast was fine the hotel has free parking fairly convenient for driving and town is accessible via bus or taxi in 10 mins the immediate area is very bland though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It is clean, affordable, comfortable and the rooms are great. It is a bit far from the centre, but there is a bus you can take. I would stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location and comfy beds with free parking"
Give we arrived at 3am on the night of the October storms, a warm welcome and comfy beds with a great hot shower was much appreciated. Breakfast was a bit slow but given staff problems getting in after the storm, not a surprise. Cheerful and helpful staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Handy for Cambridge Airport"
The hotel was of the standard expected. breakfast sausages were mostly bread. I felt I was being told off for not booking direct when I checked in, not a good start to the stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Comfortable, quiet and clean"
No complaints from me which is very rare. To sum it up I would say that it's like some positive version of a premier Inn.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A disgrace ."
This has to be the worse located and sign posted hotel ever . Supposedly it was on the ring road , which it wasn't . More accurately on a side road down behind the Toyota showroom and totally invisible from the road . Isolated from everything and everybody it was a taxi drivers dream . In July the air conditioning was not working in the rooms at all […] . It would also appear that the cook finally succumbed to the heat as dinner was produced by a Reception girl for a couple of nights . Following that a cooked breakfast was offered without either bacon or eggs for two mornings . By Thursday nobody had ordered the fish , not even a fish-finger ! Everything was either frozen or came out of a tin ; the problem is that in that area there is no alternative unless you drive miles . Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is located more than 2 miles from the city centre which is a bit of a long distance to walk. The website says it is closer. Hotel too expensive for the location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A comfortable stay"
The hotel had all facilities needed for an overnight stay, we stayed 3 adults in a room and the third bed was fine, the size of a double and all made up ready. The breakfast had a good selection of food with some hot choices. We found the reception staff particularly helpful on directions and suggestions on places to eat. It was a shame it was quite […] so far out of town, a 10 mins taxi jouney at £10 -£12. However the reception ordered taxi's and they came within 5 minutes Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very Good Value For Money"
Thought the hotel was good value for money. Breakfast was good and staff were excellent. The bar could have been a bit cheaper but I suppose we can't ask for everything. The location was a little remote, but having a young family this was no problem, we had an added bonus of being able to see some planes taking off and landing at the nearby Cambridge […] Airport which kept the kids occupied and gave them something to watch out for. All in all, no complaints. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good basic hotel"
This hotel is good if you need to park and stay near Cambridge. It would not be so good if you didn't have a car. It is very basic, with small rooms, but feels safe and clean and is very good value. The free breakfast is good too. We would stay there again if we needed a base near Cambridge.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel, value for money."
The hotel was very clean and staff very helpful, breakfast was good for the money. Only problem is the distance, we got a bus then still had to walk about 10-15mins to the hotel, it looks nearer on the map than it actually is. but all in all a nice hotel and would stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ok for business/short stay"
Furniture( chair) was broken. Light was damaged.(cracked) room number was 105. Bathroom tile floor had yellow stained. Hope it gets better in the future.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Fantastic reception staff"
They were so helpful - in giving us a map of Cambridge, indicating on it the college we were visiting, where to catch the bus and how long it would take us to get there. On the day it was so useful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel for overnight stays"
Nice , clean , comfortable place to stay . £10 in cab to city centre . Cambridge is an expensive place to find a nice hotel so this does a great job for the overnight traveller wanting peace and quiet , a drink at the bar and access to the city . Free parking , free wifi, free breakfast .. Couldn't ask for better .Genuine Expedia guest review
"Clue is in the name: Holiday Inn Express"
Holiday Inn Express - clue is in the name!! Basic but reasonable price. Food in bar expensive and basic food dressed up on menue to appear like something it was not. Staff however helpful and pleasant. Staff recommended places to eat in and out of town. Taxi company assigned to hotel were efficient. Breakfast was reasonable but not much choice in […] the cooked line - scrambled eggs, beans and sausage. Rest was the usual toast & jam, yogurt, cheese slices (looked like been on platter for a week). No fresh fruit. Saturday night in the hotel was noisy. Some people having a party and were roudy until the early hours. Hotel had to call police as it apparently got out of hand. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good but mind the air con!"
Although the postcode says CB1... it's actually a bus ride out of the city centre. The bus stop was a 5-7 min walk, but it cost us (2 adults and 2 kids) £10 for the return journey. The park & ride is £5 and only a 5 min car drive to get to.The hotel itself is nice and clean and the rooms are good. The staff are very friendly and the food is tasty. The […] only downside to our stay was that the air conditioning was set at 25'C and we couldn't turn it down for the night's sleep. I turned it off for the second night. I was promised that I'd get a call from the manager about it, but 3 days later and still nothing. Still nice though. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for an overnight or short stay"
You know what you get with the Holiday Inn Express. That is the most comforting aspect of staying there. Sure its not fancy, but its got all the basics covered so you can relax. The Cambridge one also had free buffet breakfast which was nice. Wish wifi in the rooms was included in booking price, but that is a small point.Genuine Expedia guest review
"We got what we paid for"
It was fine for what we wanted but had the feel of an impersonal airport but the staff were friendly and helpful. We got what we paid for. Took 30 mins to walk from the hotel to Parkers Piece in Cambridge.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Standard Holiday Inn"
This is a standard characterless modern hotel on an industrial estate - fine if you have a car. There is nothing interesting in the surrounding area. My main gripe is that it was quite cold. The heating system is noisy. These are normal problems with many of these hotels.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hard to find and the traffic was appalling"
My first impression was bad as I stood in reception a full 2/3 minutes whilst two members of staff chatted to each other! When we returned the the hotel later in the evening the electronic key would not work and I ahd to go to reception where it had to be changed. No word of apology! Comfort and value for money is ok but had far better persional service […] in same hotel chain in Belfast! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
A very average hotel, rooms seem to have been refurbed but landings seem dated. Our shower leaked however. Breakfast was poor, hardly no selection.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"On the edge of town..."
Nothing much near by this hotel. The hotel was clean, freindly staff, food below average and not the best in terms of value, but no problems.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Waste of Money"
The hotel is out of town a bit so a good restaurant is a must. We arrived on a Sunday and had hoped to get a meal at the Hotel but nothitg was available. We did have a meal on Monday night at the hotel that left a lot to be said. The food was very basic with little choice. Breakfast too was very basic. It seems that the breakfast was made as mechanical […] as possible with little use for a chef or that the chef had little imagination. There were no prunes or fruit salad (cut up) there was fruit but whole. Milk, tea and coffee out of a machine. The Tropical juice was so watered down it was undrinkable, orange juice was better again in a machine. We stayed all over England, Scotland and Irelad this hotel seeing it was at the end of our stay we splashed out it was the dearest of all the places we stayed at. We got better accommodation at the places that cost less. We expected a much better room it too was only basic. Would not recommed this hotel at all, a bed and breakfast would have been better money spent. It appeared to us that they catered for the corporate client getting as cheap a deal as possible which would explain the basic food. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Overpriced and pretty basic."
Extremely overpriced for the level and quality of the hotel. Charging extra for wifi anywhere in the hotel these days should be an indication that the hotel is trying to milk. Every last cent out of youGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good value for money hotel"
Good value for money but isolated. In practice need car to get into Cambridge centre. We found no restaurants near by other than hotel. Some noise from trains at rear but not too much.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Bad bed good breakfast"
Bed was uncomfortable. Self service breakfast was good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent budget hotel on outskirts"
As we had taken the car to Cambridge, this proved an excellent choice. Free parking is worth the distance from the centre, and there is a frequent M - Sat bus service about 10 minutes walk away via the foot and cycle path past the hotel (half-hourly on Sunday) Alternatively you can easily drive to the Newmarket Road P + R. The hotel is in typically […] smart Hol Inn Expr. decor, and a good breakfast including some hot items is included in the price. All very comfortable and pleanty of room in the "Great Room" for breakfast. They also serve an evening meal from a limited menu - good when you have just arrived and don't want to go out again. "Nice mid range hotel"
Nice start for our trip to U.K. We arrived at 10pm and checkin was super quick. We were given a room facing the car park and the room was quiet and clean. The bed was comfortable too. We had a car and so going to the town was not a problem. Lots of FREE car parking space.
