Yosemite Riverside Inn

Probably the next best thing to staying inside the park at Yosemite. Very private comfortable room that has the feel of being out in the woods.

We wanted to see Yosemite in a weekend and it was good to stay in this hotel after the first day and have a warm shower. However please keep in mind there are not much hotels or facilities around the Yosemite area (within one hour). So based on that this hotel is acceptable. However compared to hotels in Manteca or Oakdale, the quality is by far different. […] So adjust your expectations. Here, internet means a satellite internet with 200 MB cap for all the guests!! Which barely let's you check your email after 5 mins of waiting. Also apparently there is a mismatch between hotels.com and what the hotel says. It turned out that the sluggish super slow internet is not even free, and we had to pay $5. Also for the heating system, it's kind of weird, so maybe carry a portable space heater with you. We had a baby and the room was not warm enough as we expected. There were two heaters but we couldn't figure out how to turn them on. The staff later told us that one of them was not working and for the other one we had to open it and adjust the a thermostat inside. Well, I never dared to do that on my own without any directions! The positive side, the staff are warm and good. Also make sure you check in before 10pm as they will be closed afterwards. The area outside is calm and beautiful, we enjoyed seating on the benches facing the river and relaxing. Overall it was a good stay, and thanks to the staff for providing the service. Read more

I chose this hotel because of the great value in price given its close proximity to the entrance of the Park and the Yosemite Valley (Half Dome, El Capitan, Yosemite Falls, etc). We had a very nice stay at your hotel September 7th-9th. We especially liked the fact the hotel is only 15 minutes from the park entrance. I have one request though. We got up very early as we were hiking to Nevada Falls and would have loved the breakfast to start at 6:00 or 6:30 at the latest. Hotel was a great location and right on a quiet, peaceful creek. Near Groveland with lots of choices for meals. Continental breakfast came with stay but they were not very prompt with opening for breakfast... supposed to be 7:30 a.m.... we left at 7:45 and still not open. Others left too.

To our surprise, the Inn is charming and peaceful. It sits along side a creek and the owners put plenty thoughts into providing a comfortable outdoor area to their guests: BBQ, swing, picnic table, children's play area, etc. The room we stayed in has a queen size bed. The room and its bathroom are small but comfortable. Each room has its own A/C unit, […] and old school 20" color TV. There is no telephone in the room; and there is no cellphone signal. You are truly spending time with the people you are traveling. We loved it. Breakfast was continental style. The nearest town, Groveland, is about 24 miles where you'd find good coffee and breakfast. Aside from our gps not being able to get us to the Inn, our stay was exactly what we were looking for. It is about 15 minutes from the park entrance and Buck's Meadow is 3 miles west for late night dining (open until 9pm). The Riverside Inn lies a bit outside of the yosemite national park (about a half hour drive). It may be a bit hard to reach*, but its located in a very nice place and offers you a beautifully calm place to rest. Based on other reviews, I was worried about this booking, but we found the Riverside Inn to be clean, pleasant, and near the Yosemite boundary. The bathroom looked newly tiled, which goes a long way to making a room feel decent. The continental breakfast was sufficient. This is not a fancy hotel but is a pretty nice place to stay close to the park. The room is quiet and clean. I was told by Hotel.com when I made the reservation that the hotel was right in the park, but it was 10 miles away from the park entrance and 34 miles away from the Yosemite Valley. The hotel is not bad for the price, but I would rather pay a little more to live right in the park if I visit the park next time.

Good location for Yosemite National Park. Some maintenance might be needed as the toilet overflowed on the morning of check out. Hopefully an isolated incident. Don't know how management dealt with this but willing to give them benefit of the doubt and it got addressed before they put anyone else in the room!

We arrived late in the evening coming from SFO and as we had the GPS with us there was no problem in finding the motel even at complete darkness :-) (might be better to arrive at day-time without GPS). Chambre propre et agréable. Proche du Parc Yosemite donc parfait pour y passer quelques nuits. Environnement très calme et agréable. Accueil sympa, petit déjeuner complet. Seul inconvénient il faut faire 15-20 minutes de voiture pour aller au village suivant et trouver un restaurant et un petit magasin; l'hôtel est au beau milieu de la nature.
