Let's start from the positve: staff curteous and professional, breakfast was ok. That being said: hallway carpeting very worn out and a bit stained, enter the room and same thing, stained and worn out carpeting. Furniture was worn out and beat up, even the old cathodic-tube (!!) tv's remote control was extremely worn out. Walls needed a fresh coat of […] paint as they were stained in many areas. Switches and outlets near bed were not un better shape. AC control does not show temperature. At night no sounds from airport but road noise was loud. For those not familiar with the Malpensa airport, it is located in the middle of nowhere, well outside the city of Milan. I was told by the desk clerk that it used to be an old military base that was converted into a commercial airport in the 70-80's when it became apparent that Linate (in Milan) was at capacity and couldn't handle the future needs […] of this important northern Italian city. This hotel is surrounded by residences, rather than commercial business. Nonetheless, it is very close to the airport with easy access. There are no restaurants within walking distance. No problem...the front desk made arrangements for a local family restaurant to pick us up and return us to the hotel. It was wonderful. We needed to fill up the rental car before we returned it the following am. We couldn't find a local gas station. No problem.. The front desk drew us a map of the nearest Erg gas station and we easily found it. The staff was superior, the hotel was comfortable and reasonably priced, the inclusive breakfast was good. The room was standard but clean and comfortable as was the bathroom although the corner shower was small and difficult to bend over. We only stayed here because we had an early flight. We figure we'll stay close to Malpensa airport and use their free shuttle in the morning. The shuttle service was fine and we had no issues with booking it. Just make sure to book it when you check in. The room was large compared to European standards. At the train station, apparently all the taxis didn't want to take us to this hotel since the location is so out of their way. After we got into a taxi, the driver had to take us but once we arrived, he tricked us in paying him more, $30 total for 2.5 miles.
