"Not a great stay this time"
My wife booked us for a night at Squaw, this was to be a relaxing getaway for the two of us from San Francisco to enjoy the quit of Tahoe in May. We stay at the hotel many times before, and ski at the resort, so we are use to a certain level of expectations. Unfortunately, this time around was not so great. The spa was closed down, this was a real bummer. […] On top of that, our bed was actually crooked, so we didn't have a good night sleep. We voiced are issues with the front desk, but not much care on their end. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beware of down season"
Nothing was open at the resort. I wanted to get the full experience but it was nothing more than a hotel room. Should have called ahead and asked if the many attractions were available as advertised.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Noise! Construction"
I was expecting to sleep in and relax but repair and construction noise woke me up every morning, BERY DISAPPOINTING!. If the Hotel or the surrounding area has construction they should have noted that on their web site, not worth the cost.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worth it even for short stay"
Booked the room for our wedding night. We had to leave early in the morning to get back for brunch, but it was worth it to wake up in the valley surrounded by mountains and see the Funitel and Tram, as well as the beautiful meadow on the way out. The condo/room was immaculate.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"The Village at Squaw Valley"
The Village at Squaw Valley- was the right choice. The mountains for hiking and mountain biking were right out the back door. For the less extreme a bike trail led to other local towns. Golf, and horse back riding were all avail. The room was modern and my only reget was not inviting a few more friends. My room was the one bedroom plus study which included […] a full kitchen and one and half baths. It could have slept 6 people comfortable. I had a great time and would visit again Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"woodsy get away? no."
Room was clean and spacious, nice kitchen area. Repairs needed were numerous. Toaster would'nt stay down, window latch broken, tube stopper out of tube bathroom sink stopper did'nt work... No air conditioning, which would be an issue in mid summer, not absolutly nessessary in september. We had a room with mountain view, which also overlooks the parking […] lot...During ski season this would be an exceptable place to sleep, but for a summer get away we will search for something more secluded. "An amazing experience"
The Village has got to be a hidden gem in Lake Tahoe. Not really knowing what to expect was one thing, but being blowen away on how the village hotel treated me was something else. This is my favorite second home for sure, flat out, no question about it. The small town inside the village also was a pleasant suprise. Thank you so much for a great ex […] perience. "Home away from home"
Seeing the mixed reviews, we weren't sure what to expect. We had issues driving to Tahoe since they closed 80E for a few hours. We were able to change our reservation over the phone with hotels.com really easily. Check in went smoothly. We stayed in building 4, which is right in the middle. The 1 bedroom suite was great. Decent sized kitchen with dishwasher, […] fridge, oven/stove, microwave, plates, glasses, utensils, pans, pots. Everything you would need at home! Small dining area that can seat 4. The couch was decent and the gas fireplace provided enough heat for the room. The TV and DVD player were somewhat of an issue. The cable between the 2 didn't work and it took sometime for the maintenance people to figure why the DVD player didn't work. The TV is somewhat old and small, but good enough. The bathroom was roomy- shower over tub and heated floors. Bedroom was decent with king sized bed, which was slightly too firm. The outdoor hot tub and indoor sauna were nice. We didn't get a chance to use the fitness facilities. If you;'re there to ski, it's a very convenient ~ 1minute walk to where you get tickets. Parking downstairs is relatively easy. Tahoe City is about a 6-7 minute drive away with plenty of restaurants. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"The Village at Squaw Valley"
We stayed in one of the condos which was quite cozy with a fireplace and balcony and a nice view of the mountains. The room was great with the one complaint being the comfortability of the bed. The mattress was clearly in need of replacement, it pitched towards the middle. I would gladly stay at the Village again but perhaps not again in that same condo […] unit. "VERY LOUD!!!"
First, this is NOT a hotel. It is a condo-type of complex where are all the rooms are owned, but rented out by the staff. Second, the location was perfect. It is a small ski village, where you have a bunch of condo complexes with restaurants shops below and you just walk from place to place. It is very small, but cozy. Ultimately, the reason to be there […] was to ski, and Squaw Valley Ski area was within a five minute walk. My biggest gripe was the NOISE. It had already snowed fairly heavy when we got there, then again overnight, so starting at 3 AM they starting clearing up the snow in the walkways below our room and all around the village. It sounded as if they were constructing a new road. They had mini front-loaders (tractors) and people with shovels. This went on from around 3 am to about 6 am. Then around 6:30 am they started BOMBING!! Using Dynamite for avalanche control. That last part I'd understand, but clearing walkways at 3am when people just a few feet above are trying to sleep is insane. Why they couldn't have thought about this at checkin, and put us facing away from the walkways / village. Needless to say, we didn't get a restful sleep. I would not stay there if you expect any snow. Stay somewhere further and drive there and go skiing. Live and Learn. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Everything was closed!"
We booked this placed based on previous experience during the summer season, go then, not in the fall. All the shops were closed, the hot tubs, the stable. Tahoe is great in the fall just stay somewhere besides squaw village.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Awesome Experience"
We simply could not have had a better time, and will be returning as offen as possible. The only tiny thing was the front desk clerk told us the tram was running that weekend, Sat & Sun, but it was not. Apparently not running since the weekend before we arrived, someone should have told her. Other than that, which we of course worked around, everything […] was wonderful. I only wish the Choice Hotel I work in offered such wonderful service, but sadly it does not. Thanks again for a great time. By the way, your shampoo is also wonderful. "Enjoyed our stay - nice accomodations."
Greeted by very friendly check-in staff and since it was a slow/between seasons week we were given a complementary room upgrade. Room was very nice and comfortable. Having the small kitchen was very convenient since only a few of the village restaurants were open during our stay. Staff had good dining suggestions a short drive away in both Tahoe City […] and Truckee. Overall a very relaxing, quiet stay. We would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
