We did have an issue with our first room's shower head that got stuck, so we were moved into the honeymoon suite with a jacuzzi tub and king size bed. The toilet got clogged up this time and the maid service came up to plunge it and wrapped the dirty plunger into a bath towel and proceeded to leave the toilet and bathroom wet from plunged water....I […] had to request for room service to come do a thorough cleaning...which i'm not so sure happened. The room was very nice, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel was easy to get to -- there's a free shuttle from the airport, and there are bus lines right around the corner. It's great for what it is -- a reasonably-priced hotel near the airport -- but it's also limited by what it is (a hotel near the airport). Hotel staff doesn't understand what the "do not disturb" door hanger means. On more than one occasio they tried to barge in without even announcing them selves! The location was also good for me as it was very close to the Toronto Airport and I had a fairly early flight and had to return the rental car first. "Great if you're visiting Toronto and have a car"
We stayed 3 nights at this hotel 7/2/10, 7/3/10 & 7/4/10. With a rental car, we were able to make a short, simple drive each day to downtown Toronto. By doing this, we saved quite a bit of money. (There is no charge for parking at the hotel.) We had a king bed on the 1st floor and the room was large with high ceilings. The bathroom was also large. […] Everything felt very comfortable and spacious for two people. The bed was the best part of my trip! There was an adjoining restaurant where breakfast was served and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The lack of air conditioning in the hallways was a minor inconvenience. I would also not advise travelling too far from the hotel after dark. The immediate area seemed safe enough, but a few blocks away, there are tons of seedy plazas where unsavory folks hang out. I stayed here for a week while I was attending a trade show in January. The hotel is clean & modern. The attached restaurant, Mickele's, has a decent breakfast (included) and a great menu for supper.
