"Small, Moldy broken room"
The bathroom was a disgrace. There was mold along the entire length of the wall from one end to the other. The shower haed was held together with what was left of tape to prevent the water from spraying all over. It was very loud, but that's downtown Toronto. When checking out, I mentioned to the desk clerk about my room and that i had pictures, she […] apolgized and said sorry, some rooms are like that now and need ot be renovated. I asked for a manager, she said she was busy but i could email the hotel when i returned home if i liked. There were no other rooms to switch too so i was stuck. The wallpapaer was coming off the wall as well. For the rate i paid, i should have styaed in any other downtown hotel that had some modern amenities. I did leave supplements in my room and house keeping was great when i called and inquired they immediately called back, found them and offered to ship or hold ontothem, that's why i gave a 3 for hotel service. "Horrible Hotel"
This hotel was supposedly renovated, I'm not quite sure where because I certainly did not see any renovation. Our room had been "Renovated", but there is no way. The room may have been renovated in 1990 but not within this decade. During the entire stay, the elevators were not working, out of 3 elevators only one worked. Therefore in order to avoid […] the incredibly long lines, we had to climb 4 flights of stairs to try to catch an elevator or wait for 20 minutes to get to your room which is ridiculous. I have stayed at The Chelsea Delta for the last 4 years when I travel each year in July and I will not be staying again. My room was outdated and furniture was worn and torn. When I asked to speak to a manager at the front desk at the end of my trip he said he understood my complaint because that particular building I stayed in this time had not been […] renovated. "Would never go back"
In summary this hotel is very, very old and the only updates have been made to the lobby. The street noise was incredible in the room (even on the 11th floor). I felt like Housekeeping tried to do a good job, but there is only so much that can be done with old carpet, old furniture and old bathrooms. We called Delta directly and asked three very important questions...each question was answered but when we booked and got there we found out all the answers were incorrect. DONT GO TO DELTA CHELSEA! This is what I can say after my experience. The rooms are super old, smells funny. The shower system is the worst ever. "A big let down"
I will never stay here again. I called ahead of time to inform the staff that I would be arriving after 10pm. They told me "no problem". When I arrived I had to wait approx 30 mins before they could complete my check in. I had prepaid for a queen bed. They gave my prepaid room away and only had a two double bed avail. There was peeling wall paper in our room, the sheets were ridiculously unfitting for the bed, There was trash in the bath room, no shampoos or body wash and there was loud neighbours. "Will not stay there again"
Very disappointed overall the room was very old and the furniture was old and scratched up. The elevators were so small and took forever to get up and down from the room. The floor we were on was the 5th which over looked the roof and was very dirty! Our room door was opened twice by the maid service without a knock first. Will never stay there again. We were harrassed all night about noise, only to find out they weren't just harrassing us, they were going door to door telling random people the same thing. The wait for any elevator was a joke... And there was one out of service that they didn't even have blocked off! Anyone could just walk in there. "Black Mold"
Strong Mildew Smell in Room. It rained heavy that night and I noticed water damage on roof. Carpet was wet also so I pulled it back and there was black mold everywhere!!! For years, I have stayed at this hotel and usually really enjoyed my stay. It was mostly acceptable until the maid service knocked on the door at 8am to see if they could clean the room. 8AM on a Saturday...many hours before check-out. It is apparent that the maids have no regard for the hotel patrons. Then when I called the manager, little empathy […] was expressed nor was there any indication that we would not be continually harassed by the maid service. "Delta Chelsea in Toronto"
The room was very tiny, dark, old and in need of a serious update---more like something you'd see in a roadside motel, not a 3.5 star hotel in Toronto. (I've stayed in bigger rooms in Europe!) Enamel all worn off around plug in bathtub. Wallpaper peeling because of water damage. Hallway to room was dark and dirty looking carpet. Wow, where do I start? First of all, hotel is conveniently located close to all shopping etc. and that's a plus, BUT in front of our widows there is construction going on and it will probably take good part of this year. Sooo, if you want to sleep longer - forget it. They start hammering at 8am Be prepared to pay $28 parking per nite!!! Hotel lobby […] is very impressive but as soon as you hit some levels, you can tell, this hotel is long overdue for "make up" Now let's go to our room. Absolutely disgusting, there was a chewing gum on the balcony floor right at the entrance. Dust everywhere, windows look like was not cleaned for a while, some greasy finger spots. Window cover was stained with something brown. You want coffee? No problem there is coffee machine but as soon as you open the compartment to pour water, it will hit you with some disgusting brown/black stains. Table was dirty/sticky with something. Washroom, the toilet was missing some covers on the two screws and the place there was dirty with some brown stuff-yak. I would NEVER stay there even if they offered me for free. You pay for the location and the lobby. The room is small but functional. There is no sound proofing at all, I heard people screaming up and down the halls all night long. I couldn't sleep at all. Someone tried to get into my room while I showered. The cleaning staff was in my room in the evening while I was out (I booked for one night, they should […] not have come in at all). They closed the shower curtain and changed the shower head, my towels got thrown in the bath tub. The bathroom is so tiny you have to squeeze beside the toilet to close the door and you have to close the door to get into the shower. They gave only two "large" towels for the room.The TV was old, and small and only half the channels came in without being "snowy". The pool is nice however the staff there are very unfriendly, they treat you like you are an inconvienience. There were ten people checking in when I got there and it took like half hour. The desk clerk was suitably fake nice and pretended to give a crap between eye rolls. The confirmation number they gave me by email didn't work so he treated me like it was my fault he had to do something to find my room. They don't offer breakfast, parking is $28 a night (p.s. you can park outside a block away for less than half that). They provide no service, they charge you for everything and treat you like you are in the way. Everything was great in the begining....the room was kinda small, but not bad. I parked and paid when I got there, I went out. When I got my bill in the morning, I was charged 3 times!!! When I went to resolve it at the front desk, the man was very rude and said I had to pay it again! I had to show him my online bank statement to believe me. We used the hotel as we needed one close to Toronto General Hospital. I felt as if we roomed in a second rate wing because of this. Everything in this wing needs to be updated, bathroom tiles chipped and dirty carpet worn etc.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Our "deluxe" room had a very comfortable bed, nice toiletries, decent TV set, and nothing else -- no wireless internet, no minibar, no in-room safe. The telephone had no dial tone, the desk was battered, the chair was scruffy, and the wallpaper was peeling.
