"overrated"
This hotel is far away from everything and you don't feel like driving all the way to find bars or restaurants. Knowing that, the hotel put high prices on food and beverages...stop by a grocery store on your way to the hotel!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overall great, but some improvements can be made."
The check in process was smooth with the receptionist showing us all the amenities of the resort on a map. The room itself was in need of an update. It was furnished in the 1980s style and reminded me of the 80s show "married with children." The shower left much to be desired with insufficient water pressure as well as a showerhead clogged with white […] matter of unknown origin. The bathtub could also be cleaner. The room was an ocean view but there wasn't much ocean to "view" from that distance. We were disappointed. We even looked up other resorts and considered canceling and rebooking elsewhere. However, I am very glad that we did not. The next morning we contacted the front desk with our grievances and they took care of everything the same day. The shower head was replaced, room was meticulously cleaned and the bathtub looked very inviting. The staff are very professional and do make you feel at home. They were truly amicable and congenial. The grounds of the resort are nothing short of breathtaking. The manicured lawns, the palm trees and the well maintained pool(s) are really splendid.very good but pricey. A $14 omelet in Guanica seems a tad high to me. Drinks are also priced "aggressively." I don't think I have tried a $9 mojito at an island resort before. Also, you cannot bring a cooler. Dinner is about $100 for 3 course with Drinks. So would I do it all over again? Maybe. If the prices were tamer, especially the food then I would be more likely to return. "Nice hotel, service not so much."
The hotel is nice but the service was not. I called the front desk about 7 times and I could not get somebody to answer the phone. The manager helped me and he made sure I enjoyed the rest of my stay after several inconvients with the service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice location for beach relaxation"
I think overall this was a comfortable place to stay. I did not like that the shower did not drain. Water up to our ankles in the shower. I asked it to be fixed, someone came to fix it, but still the water did not drain. We had 2 rooms and this was the case in both rooms. Lots of seaweed in the Carribean but still ok to swim and have fun. Great snorkeling […] on Gilligans Island which is a must see. Hotel staff did not tell us to bring water or food to Gilligans Island which I think they should have communicated to us. We had to go back to get more water and food. "Ok hotel, overpriced."
They should let the sound of the waves take care of the ambience in the cafe next to the beach. The background music was of bad taste and wat too loud. Food is good but expensive.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beach?"
Resort beach and public beach not ideal for swimming. It's more of a marina and lots of seaweed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Reasonable but could do better."
The rooms and grounds are very nice and upkept quite well. Food is good and the prices are reasonable. Service can be spotty depending on the servers - although most of the servers did make an effort. At the time a lot of the facilities were not open or available. Only the outdoor bar and restaurant was available for the whole time we were there. They […] do not make an effort the give information about the services of the hotel or things to do in the area. You have to figure out most things yourself. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Very secluded and quaint, but service is lacking"
Overall, I like this resort. I chose it because of its seclusion. It's quiet and in a beautifully scenic area. The beach is nice, but it's difficult to swim in because of the plant life in the water. The hotel does state that they don't clear this due to its importance to marine life and the ecosystem. That's a noble reason, but you should know this […] in advance. The dissapointing parts of Copamarina are the restaurants and service. The menu is very american-ized (and straight out of the 1990's). One restaurant had a menu that read like TGI Friday's (and it tasted worse). The other restaurant was no different than a common American bistro. No local dishes and very mediocre seafood. Because the resort was so empty, they were out of many items. I expected service to be slow on a tropical island, but I waited 40 min just for dessert! Eating a simple meal took 2 hrs! None of the staff smiled or said thank you. When we checked out, the front desk person didn't ask a single question about our stay or even say goodbye. If this hotel updated it's food menu and improved its customer service, it would deserve a solid 4 stars. Until then, its three to three and a half. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Copamarina Beach hotel - clean up your beach!"
A "luxury" place with lousy cleaning on the beach. Get yourself some sand and get the seaweed away from your shoreline so your beach can live up to the rest of a beautiful setting. Even if it was off season you should not hand out a paper to guests with opening hours of various places at the premises which are completely changed due to off season and […] quick decision to close due to few guests! "Mosquitoes are the new attraction"
I have stayed here a few times and this time the mosquitoes were at large. Not only they were flies and mosquitoes on the outside dining area, but inside the rooms. I did not see any effort from the Staff to turn on special fumes, citronellas, etc. to get rid of these insects. In addition, the room was very noisy especially at night. This time around […] I was not impressed with the overall appearance of the hotel. No security guard at the entrance, only scattered staff on occasions. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
