"Nice and different"
Located right on a major piazza the hotel was very close to all the major sites and shopping areas. The entrance is a bit tricky to find and we walked right by it the first time and had to ask where it was. This was a very nice and clean hotel close to everything. The down fall was the staff at the recaption desk. They were very unfriendly and acted like they could care less if we were there or not. "Hotel Pendini"
The hotel was very olde worlde in style and a little worn. A bit difficult to find the entrance - it's a not very well marked door next to the Ferrari shop. Clean and comfortable, we had a standard double room that wasn't on the reception floor, but in a seperate area of the building. The view was of an internal ventilation shaft, so not pretty, but […] it was very quiet and meant we could open the windows to sleep if we wanted to. The room was a good size as well - not the tiny shoe boxes we've come to expect in Italy. Bathroom was clean, had enough space to put toilletries and bits where they wouldn't get soaked, and had a warm floor too. Breakfast was very good, a selection of pastries, cereals, meats, cheeses, etc. The hotel is fairly central. Just 2-3 minutes walk to the Duomo in one direction, and about 5-6 minutes walk to Ponte Vecchio in the other.
