Best location, hotel room was little older feel than I wanted. And smaller than I wished for the price. Breakfast was very good. Overall nice place to stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location"
We were 4 in a room and very comfortable. The tub/shower was small for a family of 6'5 people but plenty of hot water and plush towels. Easy walking to everything and the breakfast was very good. Plentiful, fresh , delicious. Staff helpful and attentive. I would come again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Value"
Great location - right in the center of everything. Our room overlooked the square which was very nice. The rooms were very large, very high ceilings with gorgeous artwork painted on them. I think they were still in the middle of some renovations as some areas of the hallways/lobby/etc felt a little unpolished, but overall very nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location to everywhere"
Hotel is in very good location, not far from many sightseeing area, can walk to a lot of place. Not too much of choice of breakfast but all good, coffee was great and the view is fantastic. But the bathroom is bit old and need to update. The view from my room was fantastic, it was facing the square, but I think it is great in winter time and summer […] time may be a bit noisy. The other downside was we find the some of the hotel staffs at the front desk is a bit cold. Not too friendly. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Would not stay here again. Good location, but room smelled of mold and was very noisy. Hotel entrance was hard to find. Do not take stairs to main entrance, have to take the lift. Employees not very helpful and spoke very little English.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Excellent Location!"
Hotel Pendini could not have been located in a more perfect location--only a 10 minute walk from the train station and only 5 minutes from Duomo. It's right in Piazza Republica and right in the center of all the night time action. The hotel itself was very quaint and our rooms were spacious. My only compliant was the bathrooms...they were very outdated […] and the shower was just a folding screen door. They were also doing construction during the last day of our stay which was quite hectic around the hotel. The hotel decided to waive our local tax fee because of all the noise which was nice. Would stay again just for the location but hopefully the bathrooms are better next time. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Best thing about this hotel is its location. Worst thing is the shower on top of the toilet. All in all, it's very good.Genuine Expedia guest review

Wonderful location, but noisy at night overlooking the piazza. The room needs to have a safe.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel for a family of five."
The staff was pleasant and helpful, including housekeeping. The management let us in before check-in time because our room was ready. They also let us keep our luggage in storage after check-out until we needed to leave the city. Breakfast offered a variety of options. We had a large two bedroom suite that had sleeping accommodations for two adults […] and three teenagers. The hotel was quiet at night for a good night sleep, despite being right above a large, busy piazza. We would stay there again if we ever go back to Florence. The price of the room was very reasonable for a family of five and included breakfast. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

It was ok. The breakfast was good. MY biggest complain was that our room was dumpy and bathroom floor not very clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The location was wonderful. Very central to everything including the Duomo and train station. The hotel has a nice quaint Florintine feeling, rooms with very high ceilings and comfortable beds.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Loved everything about the Pendini! The staff was charmingly accomodating and knowledgeable. The room was huge, airy and very clean. We much appreciated the soundproof windows for quiet while sleeping. Conversly, we loved to have the windows open during the day in order to enjoy the Piazza! We would go back in an instant!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect location in Republica Square"
First night stay was very noisy throughout the entire night- room faced street. After moving to a room facing the courtyard room was quiet and lovely. Breakfast was delicious and location is the best. This was our second stay and we would return when we next visit FlorenceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Only there briefly but the service was terrific. The hotel Pendini was better than our tour hotel we moved to.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Outstanding location In Florence"
This was a good experience. The management was helpful, courteous and competent. A beautiful location in the active heart of Florence.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Single travelers"
Hotel felt safe and was conveniently located. Night music in the Piazza below the hotel was a mixed blessing. If you like a variety of music as a low background noise, get a window facing the Piazza. For a quieter stay, request a courtyard- facing room.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location in Florence"
Hotel Pendini was located in the heart of Florence. All major sites were only a couple blocks away in every direction. The piazza outside the hotel was lively during the day and night and there were a ton of great restaurants everywhere around. The duomo was a 2 minute walk!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great staff but rooms could use some renovations"
The hotel was very nice and in a very convenient location, but it is on the top floor of a building. The elevator was very small and I am a bit claustrophobic so I walked up and down every time. It was about 100 steps each way. A second elevator was being fixed when we were there which was a glass elevator and a little bigger. We were there in the height […] of the tourist season in August for 2 nights. We had a room for 5, which actually had 2 rooms and a bathroom. I highly recommend that you ask for a room with NO carpet as the hotel is a bit old and the smell of mold and mildew in our room was horrible. We changed our room for the second night, as they were sold out on the first night. The carpet had large holes in it where the doors to the bedrooms and entry scraped the floor. The bathroom smelled of mildew and I had to leave the small window open so my eyes wouldn't burn. I may be over sensitive to the smell, but it was clearly apparent by everyone. The second night was much better but the bathroom was an issue, but we dealt with it because it was only for 1 more night. The woman at the desk, Pamela, was wonderful. She recommended a great restaurant and they really took care of us. The free breakfast was very nice, better than most than I have seen in Europe. It had cheese, fruit, ham, danish, cereal, yogurt, milk, juices, nutella, jam, etc. and a coffee machine to make specialty drinks. The hotel is very pretty and well appointed on that top floor. "Nice but needs better service"
Great location. Breakfast room layout is bad. Coffee, toast, pastries & juice area were all in the same corner. you have to wait in a long line . construction in the hallway was annoying. customers deserve notification & discounts if they have to put up with construction dust.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Awful. Avoid at all costs"
Horrible stench from bathroom welcomed us. We had to demand a room change. Staff tried to tell us they could not do anything except for sending someone to clean the bathroom. Cleaning staff seemed to be clueless and untrained. No supplies replenished on day 2 until demanded. Corner cutting at every turn. Even entry way from street was unclean and dusty. […] Awful. "Comfortable Florence hotel close to historic sites"
The hotel is in an ideal location on Repubblica square within easy walking distance of the historic sites of the city. The rooms have been remodeled and are spacious and comfortable. My wife and I had made reservations for a two night stay at the Pendini, but we arrived in Florence a day later than planned due to train delays. "Great Location, rest just okay"
The Hotel Pendini was in a great location and it was easy to walk to everywhere from the hotel. Our room however, was not so great. When we checked in, the room had a very strong bad perfume smell like they were trying to cover up a smell. The sink was also clogged and filled with water when we washed our hands. The smell was giving me a headache, we […] asked if there were any other rooms we could move to and they said no. I don't need a lot in a hotel. I don't need a lot of frills or amenities, just cleanliness and service. This hotels service was awful! I tried to call the desk to ask a question and no one answered. So I went downstairs and the clerk saw me approach the desk, tunrned his head away and returned to looking at his computer. I stood there for about a minute and then asked a maintenance employee the question. As far as cleanliness, there was mold all over the bathroom in addition to the previously mentioned items. The breakfast was very good, but just did not make up for the other issues. I wanted to like this hotel because of the great location and beautiful building, however I will try somewhere else next time. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Location"
Though the room was smaller than I anticipated the location, within 25 steps of the Piazza Republico, was tremendous. The hotel starts on the 4th floor and with your luggage it is a cramped trip in the smaller European elevators - but no big problem. The complimentary breakfast was very good. "Excellent Location"
The Hotel is located within a 10 minutes walk from shopping areas, the gold bridge and the duomo in Florence. Although the hotel is a 3-star it was more luxurious and well kept than some of the 4-star hotels I have stayed at in Italy. The hotel is easy to find and has its lobby on the 4th floor. "5 star hotel for a 3 star price!"
This hotel is in prime condition with a very vintage feel. You open your balcony with a view of the piazza and feel like you're Evita. You wake up to a view of the Duomo. The front desk is also extremely helpful - I needed to do lots of printing and they accommodated me no charge.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Thumbs up for Hotel Pendini"
Hotel Pendini is an excellent value with a great location right in the center of Florence's tourist attractions. It is a 5 - 10 minute walk from the main train station (Santa Maria Novella), half a block away from Piazza Della Repubblica, and just a short walk to the major attractions (Ponte Vecchio bridge, Uffizi Gallery, Santa Maria del Fiore, etc.). […] There are many restaurants and shops within a short walk of the hotel. The only downside is that the noise from the Piazza can be quite loud at night; however the windows were well soundproofed when closed. The rooms are surprisingly spacious and comfortable. The hotel provides a very good complimentary breakfast in a dining room off the main lobby. The hotel staff was always very helpful and spoke English. They also provided free luggage storage after checkout. Rick Steves's guidebook describes this hotel as bland and needing renovation, but I disagree (btw - I am personally a big fan of his guidebooks and generally agree with his advice). I chose Hotel Pendini based on its mid-range price and ideal location and was very impressed by the value and convenience it provides. I highly recommend this hotel. "Great location, but room description is deceiving"
Hotel Pendini is in a great location. About 2 min from the Duomo, and a ten minute walk from the train station. Very safe neighborhood. The lobby is clean, and the breakfast was pretty good. Our room was much different from hotel.com's description. For one, there was no safe in the room, and it did not look out into the plaza. "Hotel Pendini- Great Hotel but don't drive in"
This hotel was a great find for the price. The piazza was right out our window so the location is perfect. Just bring earplugs! The activity in Florence goes on all night. There was an opera singer right out our window, but the earplugs are for the street noise when you finally try to get some sleep. We had a street view which was great, but noisy. […] There was a sitting room, bath, and bedroom for the price, and it included breakfast which you could eat looking out at the city. For the price, this hotel can't be beat. Take a taxi though as parking a car cost E30 per day and the streets of Florence are impossible to navigate, even with a GPS. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel Bendini - Florence"
Thought the rates were reasonable considering the super location. Really loved sitting by the window at breakfast - beautiful setting! Just felt like we were in the middle of everything. And the room was comfortable, too. Opera singer right outside our window - only a problem if you need to retire early and you want the window open.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location. Location. Location."
Beautiful suites. Great location with many restaurants, upscale shops, and bars nearby. A small public plaza just outside the doors, which makes for great views and strolling, but was loud at night.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Location in Florence"
The staff of the Hotel Pendini were friendly and helpful. They were willing to print boarding passes and vouchers for us several times. Very nice breakfast included in the price. Location was FABULOUS - 5 - 10 minute walk to most museums/churches/sites in Florence. We would stay at Hotel Pendina again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel Pendini in Florence--Authentic charm"
An excellent hotel in terms of central location to everything you want to see--walking distance from the train station, the Duomo, the Uffizi, the Central Market . . . everything! Because you are on the Plaza Republica, there is always something going on just outside your door. The hotel is in the top two floors of an historic building that has been […] beautifully kept up. The desk staff was fluent in english and always pleasant and helpful. There was truly FREE internet and wifi--a rarity in Italy--and it was fast. The rooms are simple but comfortable, clean, and beautiful with high ceilings and large windows. The dining area for breakfast was also beautiful and the continental breakfast was the best we had in our two-week trip. There was also a charming sitting area to read. Because we were there in off-season, our rate was very reasonable especially when you consider that it included breakfast and internet. My ONLY two comments that could be seen as negative are: (1) The room's shower enclosure was TINY! I weigh 160lbs, and I could hardly turn around in it. I don't know if this was true of all the rooms. (2) The elevator (which you will need to take to avoid the 124 steps up to the reception desk on the 4th floor) is also TINY--my wife and I and our two suitcases barely fit. That said, these are really the only two detracting things that I have to say about this great hotel. If you are looking for authentic charm and a great central location, this is it! "Great Hotel in the Center of Everything"
This hotel amazes me. To me, it seems like a 4 star quality hotel when you consider the fabulous decor, the extremely beautiful view out of the windows and the location. 1 block from leather market, 2 blocks from bars and restaurants, sitting ON the piazza with view of duomo. Amazing. And all that for the price of a 2 star? ridiculous. The only advice […] I can give is that if you prefer to have a total quiet night, you'll probably want to request a room that's not on the piazza. The bars and restaurants play loud music into the wee hours and I could see it driving someone crazy. Not me, though! Lastly, do note that the walls are thin. So, other's may hear you talking and you'll need to take off your heels if walking down the wooden cooridors at night. Fantastic hotel! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
