We had a great stay at Hotel Laurus al Duomo. It is in a fabulous location in Florence, close to the train station and close to the Duomo. The hotel was very clean and the staff great. Thanks for a great stay.

We were really pleased with this hotel. Location was great! Our room was really comfortable and very spacious, also the bathroom was really good size and clean, so we were really please with that because the bathroom in our hotel in Rome was tiny. The Staff at the Duomo were really friendly and willing to answer any question we had.

The hotel was excellent and could not have been better, and the front-desk staff were very helpful. The room was a little dated for a four-star. We also had a premium room with a King and a view, so I was surprised by the hard bed. It was the least comfortable bed in a three-week vacation in Southern Europe!

What a pleasant surprise, the location of this hotel is excellent.. We had a great room 606 with a terrace and view, breakfast was awesome.. Fantastic location, and very friendly staff. The hotel's wine/breakfast bar overlooks the Duomo and has a fantastic view of the city. The rooms are large, but fairly spartan. An evening on the roof-top balcony/cafe capped a very nice stay at this hotel. Ordered coffee service for the room. Every day maid took away service. So, we had to request it every day. Somewhat of a hassle. Browser on computer at internetpoint not updated. Was never able to access it. Loved the rooftop terrace and the breakfast. My wife and I had the terrace all to ourselves for our wedding anniversary.

Food at the hotel (in the wine bar) was horrible, and there was only one guy working there who was bartender, waiter, and cook. He was overwhelmed and we felt really bad for him. but still had a very nice time! breakfast was good.

Excellent location and nice rooms - larger than expected. We got rooms with a view (peripheral) view of the duomo which was wonderful. The roof terrace/breakfast area was a real treat. The hotel is a bit dated but overall a first class experience!

The hotel is five minutes walk from the main train station , no taxi required. Its in a fantastic location one minute walk to the Duomo church which is basically the centre of all things you will want to see . Great restaurants close by, and also good shopping, the rooms are not large but ok ,clean and well stocked with toiletrys and towels..

The hotel was located a block from the Duomo. It is walking distance to everything. If you get lost look up for the Duomo and it we lead you back to your hotel. We stayed on the fifth floor right below the bar. It was a little noisy early morning and afternoon we they are setting up meals. Woke us up every morning. Love the hotel otherwise.

The only thing that is keeping this hotel from a 5 star review is a few snotty front desk employees, and inability to print a boarding pass unless one pays for an hour's worth of computer time in lounge. Of you direct all requests or questions to the two really nice front desk people then it's ok. We chose this hotel based on its location and It's breakfast terrace with a view of the Duomo. We were not dissapointed. We were able to walk to the hotel from SMN station in 10 minutes. The difference in signage should be noted when you have your booking confirmed. When you're tired from a long flight and hauling suitcases it's important to be able to find your hotel easily. Superb location, a couple of blocks from the Duomo. The room was spacious, and the A/C efficient. The rooftop terrace is pleasant for drinks, and breakfast is served here. It was great to be within walking distance of everything we wanted to see in the old town.

In genral, the location was very good and our room was quite and clean. The TV did not work, but we didn't mind it. our only problem was the breakfast: the orange juice was not orange juce at all. It was something like water, suger, and orange color, the coffee was not good either, and the bread was not fresh. The staff were polite and helpful.

Stayed 4 nights here. Location, location, location. Very quiet rooms despite being on a well-traveled street. Breakfast room a little small, but works. Wi-fi was intermittent, but you should be outside in Florence anyway.

This hotel is located far enough away from the tourist sites that each visit requires a taxi, and great evening meals are not close. The staff is quite helpful. The beds leave MUCH to be desired- pillows and mattress were the worst of any stay in any country during the past few years. Rooms are beautifully decorated in a traditional style.

I all all about a good hotel for a good price, and hit every mark! I couldn't believe how close this was to everything. The Duomo was a block away,the pedestrian area was about half a block, and the train station was a couple of blocks away (10 minutes if you walk as slow as me). I felt a bit stupid for taking a taxi fromt he train station once I realized […] how close it was! The hotel recomended a restaurant near the Medicee Chapel, and we ended up going back a couple of times. There is also a self service laundry within 2-3 blocks. The view from the terrace was great, we enjoyed a glass of wine up there many evenings! The staff at the front desk was pleasant but not as gracious as all the other hotels we stayed at. The room nice and laid out well. There nwas room in the fridge for our water bottles and wine. The bathroom even had a tub! We visited Florence for 3 days in April warm in the 70s, and this hotel location was within easy walking distance to Duomo, Train station, and main attractions. The Hotel Laurus was located in a great part of town, just 2 blocks from the Duomo and the main piazzas of Florence and a 10 minute walk from the main train station. I had been to Florence before so I knew that location was extremely important for me. You could walk out of the hotel for dinner or a gelato and feel comfortable in the area […] even late at night since everyone eats much later than we are used to in the USA. We visited at the end of January 2013. The location of the hotel is excellent -- a few minutes walk from the main train station in Florence and only 2 minutes walk from the Duomo. It is right on the edge of the designer shopping streets on one side and the more bohemian student quarter on the other. The room was big enough for us, with an adequate bathroom, all clean and well maintained. The breakfast room was one floor below us, with a lovely balcony with views across the city and of the Duomo. They are running a programme called Life Beyond Tourism, which aims to encourage visitors to get a better understanding of the culture and spirit of the place. The best thing about this hotel is the location. Easy to visit the main places of interest in Florence and go back to the hotel to make a coffee or have some lunch. Note that you can have a tray with kettle coffee tea delivered to your room daily for free. This is a definite plus considering the price of these incidentals when out sightseeing.
