Don't be put off by the 70s exterior, it's not too bad on the inside. However I've stayed in better 3* hotels. Restaurant service was poor as we had to ask for our drinks order as it hadn't turned up after 25 mins. To give them their dues they did not charge us for it but repeated the same mistake when we ordered coffee! Food was good though. "Fantastic service but room could do with a lick of paint"
Hiltons are always reliable as a good place to stay, and this hotel is no exception. The service was superb, especially the restaurant staff who went out of their way to help and be friendly. When my room service meal was late, I was given an apology and a free meal, without even having to raise it, and the reception staff also helped when I asked to […] extend my stay. "Not what I would expect for a supposed 4*"
The hotel was not what I would expect from a large chain and not of the standard it sell itself to be. I stayed for 4 nights. In this time a leak had obviously occurred over the corridor in a ceiling, the ceiling was stripped back and an old towel wrapped around the leaking pipe - this was not fixed during my stay - I would have thoght this should have […] been done in 2 days max. Walls were discoloured as if fire extinguishers had been mounted there for long periods and general dirt and grime on all corridor door handles remained for the period of my stay. I washed my hands upon entering my room and when reaching my destinations when leaving the hotel. The room itself while not dirty on first glance had dirty finger prints all over lightswitches as you entered the room, water glasses were not clean, just returned to the allocated position by the TV each day.
