Best Western Apalach Inn

We stayed for a overnight and this is a great little place to stay ! This was a great price room, very clean, and very close to St. George Island and Historic Apalachicola. There were only two drawbacks the pool was very cloudy and smelled like fish and I did not notice an elevator so other than that it was nice.

lovely downtown area with many shops to visit. Best restaurant was Hole in the Wall in square area. Hotel was great. They even called to see if we needed anything!! Rooms were very quite to outside noise.

The hotel is about a mile and a half west of downtown Apalachicola, but it's not that far if you drive or don't mind a long walk. This Hotel is off the beaten path, that is it is NOT walking distance to downtown Apalachacola but it was clean, new and reasonably priced. Staff was friendly and available to help.

Good location, clean, reasonable price for a good room. Only complaint was that the ice machine never had any ice. One small machine for this large complex and located on lower floor is not the best situation.

From the moment we walked in the lobby we were treated like old friends. The manager/owner could not do enough for us. We drove all night to get there and she made a special effort to turn our room over so we could check in several hours early at no additional cost. The location/convenience, price, comfort, breakfast, and cleanliness of this Best Western were all top-notch making it an excellent choice for travelers on a budget. The only downside really were the thin walls. Maybe it was just our particular room (it had a door connecting it to our neighbor's room), but we could hear our neighbors clearly from next-door. […] This was a big problem because there was a family with young children, so we could hear them yelling and screaming, and their parents yelling at them back until late at night. The next day there was a new neighbor who listened to the television while laughing and making comments that we could hear clearly through the wall/door. I would stay here again, but next time I would ask for a room that isn't connected to the neighbor with a door, because I think that's how most of the sound got in. Read more

It was outside of Appalachacola, not in it. You had to get back in your car to get to anything. Even though people weren't supposed to have pets there were pets. There was only one ice machine, downstairs in the lobby, far away from our room. There was very little water pressure in the shower.Not staying there again.

Perhaps it's because I am terrible at remembering names, but I am always impressed when someone I don't know well remembers my name. When I checked in to the Best Western Apalach Inn, I had a brief conversation with the woman at the desk. The next day I passed her in the lobby and she greeted me by name. Remodeling. Much needed. Had a hard time honoring my reservation for a 1st floor room. Check in gal on Sunday afternoon was incompetent. On Monday morning the front desk folks were much better. Good breakfast.

Our hotel stay was comfortable, however when we arrived late at night to check in, the clerk was visibly asleep on the couch & would not wake up to the buzzer or our knocking. We stood there for 30 minutes until I called repeatedly & finally the phone ringing woke him up. We were then lied to about a computer malfunction that supposedly was the reason […] for him not hearing us when we ourselves saw him sleeping on the couch through the window. Also when our room was cleaned, we were not provided with clean towels although our soiled ones were taken. The promised Wi-Fi was down the entire time of our stay as well. The staff was very friendly however the room smelled like cigarette smoke. It is a no smoking hotel now but in the past it had to have been a smoking one. The smoke odor bothered me due to the fact that I am a nonsmoker.

A short drive out of town. Hotel could use some remodeling. First room had a toilet that over flowed, but staff was quick to respond and moved us to another room. Hotel is dark and dated, but clean and staff polite.
