Our restaurant Sutherland offers exquisite cuisine and Franklins Bar invites you to a relaxing evening with live piano music and a cool drink. Our spa and gym area on the 7th floor provides you with a unique view over the Ruhr. Here you will find a Sauna and steam bath. The gym area offers a selection of gym equipment for your convenience. Use of the gym and spa area is free of charge for our guests.

"Schönes Hotel"
Allgemein ein sehr schönes Hotel. Sauberkeit war allerdings nicht so. Staub nicht ordentlich gewischt und die Badezimmertür war voller Spritzer. Ansonsten sehr zu empfehlen. Frühstücksbüffet war auch sehr gut. Starlight Express ist auch gleich in der Nähe. Wer sein Auto stehen lassen möchte, um die Ecke befindet sich eine Stassenbahnhaltestelle. "Toller Aufenthalt"
Das Hotel ist perfekt gelegen, wenn man das Musical Starlight Express besuchen möchte. Vorher kann man sehr gut essen im eigenen Hotelrestaurante und sich anschließend zu Fuß in etwa 2 Minuten zur Starlight Express Halle begeben. "Sehr schönes Hotel, Internetnutzung schwach"
Wer das Renaissance Hotel bucht bekommt genau das, was in der Beschreibung aufgeführt wird. Es ist ein sehr schönes Hotel sehr nah am Musical Starlight Express. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber, Standardzimmergröße, sehr schöne und bequeme Betten, im Bad nur Dusche, keine Badewanne. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, jedoch beim Frühstück […] wirkten die angestellten etwas gestresst. Der Fitnessraum ist sehr klein. Er verfügt über ein paar Cardiogeräte, eine Brustpresse und eine Schulterpresse (Kraftsportgeräte etwas seltsam ausgewählt, keine Hanteln), aber man sollte auch nie ein komplett eingerichtetes Fitnessstudio in einem Hotel erwarten. Kritikpunkte: Generell finde ich es eine Unverschähmtheit, wenn ein Sterne Hotel Gebühren für W-lan (12,50€ pro Tag, geringe Geschwindigkeit und nur 1 Computer kann dieses Nutzen) und Parkplätze (8.50€ pro Tag) erhebt. Während unseres Aufenthaltes gab es kleine Unannehmlichkeiten wie z.B. das keine Parkkarten bei der Einfahrt ins Parkhaus vorhanden waren oder das diese Karten nicht funktioniert haben. Im Großen und Ganzen waren wir doch sehr zufrieden. Einziger wirklicher Kritikpunkt ist die Internetnutzung. 12,50 pro Tag und nur ein Computer konnte sich mit den Zugangsdatan anmelden (und wir beide hätten unabhängig voneinander arbeiten müssen). "Das 5*Hotel - Renaissance, fünf Geh-Minuten zum Starlight Express"
Für ein 5*Sterne Hotel war die Begrüßung der Reception unpassend - wenn in eine riesige, leere Hotellhalle fünf Gäste eintreten, drei Leute am Empfang stehen, (zwei davon in einem scheinbaren Problem vertieft) und keiner (!) auch nur Anstalten macht, uns zu "empfangen" - ist das nicht 5*konform! Die von uns angestrebte Mitarbeiterin reagierte eher maulig, […] besann sich aber ihrer Pflichten (Begrüßung etc.) und gab uns dann, trotz eines Buchungsmissverständnisses, schnell passende Zimmer. Der Barkeeper war super - freundlich, flexibel - hatte einfach Spaß am Job. Bei der Abreise fiel uns der Page positiv auf, er bemerkte, dass wir ein Foto machen wollten und kam ohne Bitte, ohne Aufforderung vors Hotel und bot uns an, dieses zu machen.
