The original walled Old Town of Alcúdia is well worth a visit for its reconstructed medieval streets and Roman remains. By contrast the resort area is thoroughly modern with high-rise hotels and tourist shops around the bay. The beach is one of Mallorca’s biggest (15 kilometres) and best, with various water sports on offer. To escape the crowds visit the adjacent S’Albufera nature reserve.

We found the hotel and it looked like (and was) a great location, right on a beautiful beach. But things started off poorly when our room wasn't ready and we got absolutely nothing even close to an apology from the staff. They said it would be 20 minutes, then another 20 minutes. Coming from a customer service background, I know how keeping the customer […] happy is priority #1. I would think a complimentary drink might be in order, but certainly a something like "We're sorry you have to continue waiting." would've gone a long way too. But instead of that, they made a HUGE deal over us providing paperwork with our confirmation# on it, even though we showed them the confirmation email on our iPad, had plenty of other ID and the room had already been paid in full. All in all, we found them to be really rude, and for that reason alone, we would never stay there again, and can not recommend it. "Recommended but be prepared"
I found the hotel to an acceptable standard with the location for the beach excellent. However, I found the entertainment dissapointing during our stay as it appeared to cater towards Dutch/German and not any British who were also very few and far between.Genuine Expedia guest review
