"a step back in time"
this is a lovely hotel with luxury and convenience. the new wing which we stayed in has comfortable beds and clean roomy bath and kitchenette. the grounds are beautiful and the seacoast town near by is charming. a very good value considering they offered an expanded cont breakfast till late am.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel, great setting"
A little apprehensive about booking after reading some reviews, but decided to go with more positive comments and glad we did. Even tho the hotel will close soon to complete renovations, our stay was quiet and wonderful. The only inconvenience was that the restaurants were not available. Otherwise staff was helpful, room was outstanding. So happy we […] went! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Just wonderful!"
Great! You would never know they were remodeling the resort, so quiet!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Victorian "Jewel" being beautifully renovated."
We were most impressed with the restorations-to-date. The annex (51 rooms) is beautiful. Updating of the main building is currently underway, which should bring this facility back to its original glory. Currently, there are no dining services, but the town has many nearby (within walking distance) restaurants. The overall location is beautiful. St. […] Andrews-by-the-Sea is a lovely, friendly community. We stop there annually on our way to PEI and always enjoy ourselves. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fantastic hotel with beautiful, spacious rooms"
This is a beautiful historic hotel. Beautiful decor and great special features. Our room was spacious, clean and very comforable. The hotel grounds are beautiful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"historic place"
The Fairmont Algonquin was a nice historic place to stay for the money. Just remember it is an old inn but very charming.Genuine Expedia guest review
"The Algonquin Hotel at St. Andrews, NB, Canada"
Beautiful old hotel with exceptional service and friendly staff. The town is quaint with a lot of shops, restaurants and plenty of activities. We definitely will return!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Love this Hotel"
This is our 2nd time at the Fairmont Algonquin and we were no less disappointed in our stay. Excellent customer service from the bellhops to the managers. Love the atmosphere. Food at the restaurant was very good. Rooms are a little small, but quaint. There are some minor flaws to the hotel...all cosmetic and due mostly to age (paint, dated amenities). […] You cannot beat the ambiance of this Guilded Age, style resort. We will be back! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"What a stay!"
This was a beautiful hotel in a beautiful city. Great extras(walking routes, water for your walk and many options to do so) The staff were super accomidating and very friendly. Would have loved to stay longer but our schedule would not permit. Would love to return someday.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"no air conditioning needed"
Fairmont has done a pretty good job with a historic hotel. The best amenity is the fresh-faced, young staff who are friendly and helpful. The rooms are small but they were in 1904 when the hotel was rebuilt. No air conditioning needed; but outside fires are. Still searching for a niche. The miniature golf "course" that replaced the tennis court is not […] it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A Class Act"
The hotel is undergoing a major renovation and there is of course some understandable disruptions but giving allowance for that, this is simply an incredible "classic" hotel. A must if travelling in souther New Brunswick. The main dining room was closed and we had to travel to the golf clubhouse for dinner. The meal and the service were 4 star.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful views,close to town"
I liked it very much ... Nice room, easy to relax in.?Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel"
Very comfortable beds and a good breakfast included. Great little resort town. Would love to go back again!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Old Hotel"
This is a nice old hotel which is currently under construction. This did not detract from my room or expectations at all. Currently the Algonquin is using their golf club as their restaurant facilities. Apart from the short drive this is a good alternative. The food was good and priced appropriately. Not part of the resort is a small Family Restaurant, […] the sign says, downtown on Water Street. Food here was excellent and low priced. Highly recommend this hotel to all visitors. "too bad it's over"
it is apparent from the lack of investment in the exterior of this hotel that it no longer fits in the Fairmont model. It is a wonderful experiance to visit St Andrews and the Algonquin just enhances that.Genuine Expedia guest review

"A Lovely Place to Rest & Recharge"
A lovely hotel in a quiet, charming town. About a 10 min walk away from the main tourist / waterfront area and about 5 min walk away from Kingsbrae Gardens. Room was beautiful, and came with small kitchenette...microwave & fridge. Outdoor swimming pool in front of the hotel was heated. Great place to retreat from the fast pace of the city.Genuine Expedia guest review
"ONE BEAUTIFUL NIGHT AT THE ALONQUIN"
In one word: Excellent. Our one night stay at the Algonquin was outstanding. It will not be our last visit. The hotel is very beautiful with a great history. The service was excellent. The cuisine is world class. I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to spend a bit of time in a rich and pleasant historical surrounding. Thank YouGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not so tired"
After reading some reviews on here... I was a little skeptic about booking but did anyways. The building might be old but still has that Fairmont charm. Hotel room was comfortable with sea breeze blowing in. Ended up having a great dinner at The Library overlooking the ocean. And as always, service was perfect. Yes, its the not the Banff Springs, nor […] the Empress. But I love staying in these historic hotels with great service and would recomment this one to anybody! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Don't miss this hotel!"
We were so surprised to find this hotel and to be able to have such comfort. The only problem is that we only had one night. We plan on going back and staying longer! Great place!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Old World Style and Elegance"
I have never had such a pleasant experience in any hotel/resort I have stayed in. From the moment we checked in to the time we left we were treated like royalty by the staff. They seem to be very used to going out of their way for the pleasure and comfort of their guests.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
