All rooms in this hotel has a view of the water. It is great for bird watching and just relaxation on the patio. The rooms are clean and pleasant. Pros: clean, convenient, nice sunrise view from room, nice staff. Cons: furnishings looked like they were from a1970's odd lots store, beds are old and need replacing. We would specifically like to mention the young gentleman who was on reception when we arrived in the evening - he was friendly, welcoming and charming. We would also like to comment on the Breakfast waitress who we witness cleaning up after guests with the same cloth she cleaned a table, two chairs seats, then a table, a radiator top, chair struts […] (horizontal ones) and then cleaned another table top. Our room was in the back of the hotel, on the 1st floor, with a "yard" of lush grass & a great view of the river. The only entrance is a sliding door, & there are chairs outside of it to sit & enjoy the view. The interior of the room was nice... decent carpeting, pretty comfy beds, a table & chairs. The bathroom was a little small, but no biggie. Right […] outside the bathroom was a large counter with a sink. The staff was pretty friendly and helpful/informative. The continental breakfast was wonderful! Someone was standing there making homemade waffles... yum! The outdoor pool/jacuzzi setup is a little small but still nice and cozy. We stayed in the jacuzzi a while, it was nice. The hotel is located on Rt. 1, right in the heart of Ogunquit: plenty of restaurants and activities, etc. in the immediate surrounding area. Perkins Cove is only a few minutes away, that's a fun time. "Pleasantly Surprised"
I booked this room last minute and it was practically the only hotel that still had vacancies. I was afraid I was going to have spent a lot of money for nothing. When all was said and done I was actually glad that all the other hotels were full. So long as your not spoiled rotten, this hotel is superb for anybody on a middle-class budget. A short trolley ride took us in and out of town and at the end of the night we had some quiet so we could sleep. We definitely recommend Kayaking the Ogunquit River, right from the back of the hotel. It is a very unique kayak location because the it is a tidal river which rises and falls with the ocean tides. We kayaked every day for an hour and during our kayak we jumped into the clean brisk ocean/river water. It was excellent. We had a nice view from the deck as well. This hotel was in a great location, right on route 1. We stayed with a 3 year old and a 6 year old and had a great time. The pool was wonderful and clean. A nice area for the little ones to swim. There was a nice view of the pond/marsh. Like others have stated, the furniture is very outdated, but OK for the short stay. The room did have a slight, strange […] odor. The staff was friendly. Overall the hotel is staffed well and ran well. It is very clean and very senior citizen service friendly. The only big flaw I experienced is that if you stay in the "back" building (by the pool); you will have to climb two or three flights of stairs. There is NO elevator for you or your baggage. Now if you have no baggage or health problems it is no […] big deal. But if you have any health issues or heavy bags, it is NOT fun. I think some senior citizens realistically could not make it to the 3rd level. The only other thing was the parking for the "back" building. You can't drive down to the that building and therefore have to park near the middle building and walk down a incline with your baggage. We booked this hotel on short notice and were pleasantly surprise. The continental breakfast was good. The pool and grounds were very well maintained. The room was very clean with plenty of room for a family of 4. The best added feature that was not advertised was the hotel shuttle that ran from 9am to 4pm - every hour on the hour to Ogunquit Beach. We wanted some space and quiet which is not obvious in the Ogonquit area. This hotel perfectly fit the bill - private lawns on the river - waterfall next to the hotel a nice surprise.
