Everything was great but the only thing i didn't like was the bathroom. Whoever did the tile on the bathroom wall did a bad job. I was terrified going to this hotel after reading all the negative reviews this place had & thought about cancelling our booking before we left. This place is definetly a Spring Break kind of place but does cater to families with the pools and beaches. We stayed in the Vista room and make sure you stay there if you come with family. The place has a […] fabulous lobby and very nice pools with a swim up bar. The lobby gets very packed Saturday night but has an exciting enviornment. The lobby and the two clubs are located in the main tall building. The small building for the Vista rooms are located on the opposite side of the pools, away from the loud music and commotion hidden in the palm trees with a beautiful view of the ocean. Those rooms were beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Stocked mini-fridge, great selection of channels, nice pillows and blankets, and modern everything. Here are the only flaws I found. As read in previous reviews, the drinks are definetly over priced and have a little bit of liquor but unfortanetly is like that even outside the hotel. The bathrooms, whether following a Puerto Rican theme or to cater to couples retreats, have a little less privacy than I'm normally use to. The doors and blinds of the bathroom and wooden and can be opened easily and don't blocked everything, including the shower and tub. The toilet has a translucent wall in front facing the shower. Overall it was a nice stay but would more likely return with friends rather than family. Read more

This resort was very well maintained and was everything I expected plus more. The staff was extremely friendly and very attuned to our needs. We loved staying in the garden lanais rooms with our own patio and felt we received a lot of value for our room rate--slightly dissappointed there was no coffee pot in room and breakfast selections within hotel […] were either high price buffet or Starbucks--nothing in between. The hotel has a late check in time of 4pm but since I had reserved 3 rooms they found one for me at 2pm so we could change and go to the pool. The staff is friendly. The lobby is dated and could use refurbishing. The rooms were clean and attractive in our garden facing rooms. The pool area is quite nice with good landscaping, lounge chairs and umbrellas. […] The beach is right outside the pool area, however you have to pay to rent the chairs. Close proximity to Airport and all surrounding sights.The pool (s) areas were spotless, something for everyone...staff was extremely personable and helpful. This Hotel was quite the "Happening Place" as the lobby provides entertainment every nite and the casino is adjacent to the lobby. A very safe place to stay.

Hotel was lovely but would have rather stayed at a not so nice hotel and saved money. Did get to see Carmelo Anthony enter the club but it was way to crowded so never got in the club myself. Enjoy puerto rico and save $ by staying elsewhere.

Our recent stay at the El San Juan Hotel & Casino started on bad foot with an inept front desk attendant putting my wife, daughter and me on a spring break floor that was located on the 3rd floor of the main building. The room had a hideous orange and white décor and it was dirty. The room had an outdoor patio that led to a roof that was littered with […] cigarette butts, empty bags of chips, broken bottles and mosquito laden water puddles all over the place. After several phone calls with several front desk managers we were finally moved to a much nicer part of the hotel (Lanais) where it was the hotel that we were accustomed to during our many vacations and business trips at this family oriented hotel. Once moved, we were back on track with our vacation and we had another great time in Puerto Rico. Read more
