This is a very nice and well-run hotel; the staff are helpful and invariably friendly, the rooms spacious, clean and convenient. Standards are high.... Breakfast is outstanding. The bathrooms are all marble, with new fittings, and in good order. It has a nice feel to it, and is a very pleasant oasis to return to after a day of walking around the City. The beds are unusually hard, as a previous reviewer noted, but this did not bother me. Service is unobtrusive but very consistent; friendly but not chatty or too-friendly in any way. All requests were cheerfully accommodated. It is not an ultra-luxe place, but has everything one could reasonably want; I would definitely go back. Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Oct 26, 2011

Overview

Location.
Set in a Art Nouveau building, the luxurious Hotel Palace Praha offers a prime location in the historical center of Prague, just 50 metres from Wenceslas Square. Dating to 1909, the traditional hotel is within one kilometre of the Municipal House and National Museum, and two kilometres of Vysehrad and the Old Town Square. Prague Castle and hilltop Petrin Park are five kilometres away.

Hotel Features.
A red carpet leads past the Viennese Secessionist facade of the Hotel Palace Praha into the high-ceilinged, cream marble lobby, featuring Art Nouveau statues and a turn-of-the-century chandelier shaped like glass butterflies.

Complimentary buffet breakfast is served in the hotel's Art Deco-style L'Epoque restaurant. The Gourmet Club Restaurant has custom glassware, a stained-glass dome, and a period fountain. The wood-panelled restaurant specialises in Czech and international dishes. The lobby bar is centred around an octagonal fish tank and has Art Nouveau screens. It offers drinks, snacks, coffee and takeaway breakfast.

The Hotel Palace Praha houses a business centre, modern conference room and two small meeting rooms in period style, named after opera stars Emma Destinova and Enrico Caruso.

Massages and child care can be arranged on site. The 24-hour front desk provides tour assistance.

Guestrooms.
Overlooking a courtyard or historic buildings, the Hotel Palace Praha's 124 Art Nouveau-style guestrooms are decorated in warm tones with red brocaded bedspreads and olive armchairs. All air-conditioned rooms include high-speed Internet connections (surcharge), satellite television, safes and minibars. This is a very nice hotel in a good location, walking distance to old town but off the main street so fairly quiet. The rooms are large, the breakfast is very good, the bathroom is nice. The size of the room and the nice breakfast was the highlight. The staff was also nice and accommodating. My only two qualms were this, beds are much firmer than American […] beds so hard to get comfortable and air conditioning seemed to only get down to about 75 degrees which felt warm for sleeping. This is a top notch hotel in the very center of Prague. The staff were smiling and very helpful - without being pushy. The room was in great condition, good beds and a nice bathroom. The lobby bar was a nice, quiet place with service at your table. Wireless internet available in the whole hotel is also a plus

Mycket centralt hotell, endast ca tio minuter att gå från tågstationen och en minut från närmaste tunnelbana. Rent och snyggt överallt. Nära till de flesta sevärdigheter och museer i Prag. Det negativa är endast små detaljer, hade varit bra med eluttag för dator mm vid sängen och mer än ett eluttag vid skrivbordet. Priserna för öl, läsk, vin och godis […] något dyra på rummet (ca 3€ för en liten öl / läsk och 2.5€ för en chokladbit). Endast fast internet på rummen (0,5 Mbit som de kallar bredband??) och det kostade extra, ca 10€ per dag. Det fanns från vårt rum ett oskyddat trådlöst nät som gick att använda istället. Annars fanns fritt trådlöst nät via hotellet vid receptionen och där fanns även datorer att använda gratis. En frukostbuffé som inte lämnar något mer att önska, den innehåller allt man kan behöva och lite till. Read more
