First, if you stay here, specify that you want to overlook the courtyard, otherwise you will be looking directly into the wall of a building next store (very close). When going to the pool, the staff were offering some fruits, nuts and tea for free. Free towels available at the pool. Restaurant is located at first floor with pool view. Food was excellent with very fair price. We decided to stay more often at the hotel restaurant than on the noisy, more expensive and lower quilaty restaurants at the old market. Breakfeast was served in the same Restaurant and you had the opportunity to choose between three menus. Everything was made fresh. No problem to get some extra coffe or extra orange juice. Moreover the Hotel was offering a massage for free per person. Finally we were booking three trips (Angkor Wat and Beng Mealea via Van and Tonle Lap via Tuk Tuk). Free pick-up from the airport (via tuktuk, not car), drinks and lite refreshments on arrival while the concierge plans your stay and tours, one hour free massage during your stay, and free […] T-shirts when you leave. They found the perfect tour guide for us for the two days we visited Angkor Wat. They also gave us great information on places to visit in Siem Reap during the nights we were there. Beyond just breakfasts, the hotel restaurant also provides a complete menu for lunch and dinner when you are just too tired to go out after an all-day tour of Angkor Wat...food was very inexpensive and very tasty. Rooms are very comfortable, clean, and they have the quietest air conditioners I have yet experienced during my stays at various hotels in Asia...that was a pleasant surprise! (But, be sure to avoid ground floor rooms facing the pool if you want peace and quiet...tell them you want the 2nd or 3rd floor.) Staff is friendly, efficient, and met every request we made during our stay. Their rating is 3.5 stars on travel sites, but it sure felt a lot higher than that. The 'Around the world' cocktail by the poolside was awesome! The only downfall was how much noise we could hear in our room from people walking up and down the stairs. On our first night we could not sleep because of it, but I think it would only apply to rooms facing the stairs. We asked if we could be moved to another room, and they said none were available with a shrug of the shoulders. We felt as if we'd just be brushed off, which left us feeling quite annoyed. We stayed at the Golden Temple Hotel for 5 nights and didn't want to leave! It is located perfectly, out of the busiest part of town but only a 5 minute walk to the old market and restaurants. The best part of this hotel is the staff and the magical way they look after their guests. Every time we settled ourselves by the stunning pool with tranquil […] water features, we were given a pot of green tea followed by a small plate of sliced fruit. This happened every day. We loved chatting to them; the Cambodians are such beautiful, sincere people. Our room was on the top floor overlooking the pool; the quietest part to stay in. We forgave the ordinary bathroom with fickle shower as too many exceptional things outweighed this. The decor throughout the hotel is absolutely gorgeous. Each day we had fruit left in the room which provided us with a light lunch after the hearty breakfast. They tailored day trips for us to suit our needs and organised great transport. When I came down with gastro after eating at a local restaurant Srey-ne from reception announced that she would look after me and that she did! She had the kitchen cook me the Cambodian "fix it" which was a rice porridge with salted dried meat.....and it really helped! Staff concern for guests was genuine and their follow through very impressive. I enjoyed a Khmer massage every day which was incredibly cheap like the food and drinks. We look forward to visiting Golden Temple Hotel again in the near future. Read more

An absolutely charming hotel with the most delightful staff who anticipate your every need....and at bargain prices! Despite our early morning arrival (because of flight time) they were most apologetic that our room wasn't ready (we just wanted to leave our bags and go exploring). This was no problem but they also gave us refreshing cold cloths, a welcome […] drink and a small platter of nibbles. Returning at lunchtime, our cases were in our gorgeous room and we were also presented with vouchers (each) for a complimentary massage, packed light lunch and a lunch or dinner in the hotel restaurant. Our room was equipped with individual a/c,a safe, robes, bar fridge (2 bottles of water daily) and free wifi. 4 computers were also available near the lobby for guest use. The hotel is only a few minutes' walk from markets, another minute or 2 to pub street and if you're tired from your day at the temples there are tuk-tuks galore. The little touches really added to our experience - a cold cloth whenever we returned hot, a pot of tea and /or bowl of nuts, plate of fruit as we relaxed by the pool. (Can thoroughly recommend the pitchers of Tomb Raider cocktails - not quite free but nearly!) And there is an excellent range of very reasonably priced food at the restaurant.
