This was a nice hotel, far better than I expected considering the negativity of the reviews. It's everything you expect for the price, and they actually have a really nice pool if you bother to go - one of the cleanest and well-maintained motel pools I've ever seen. In terms of class you're not getting much, but you're also not paying much, so you don't […] feel cheated. My friend who promised they would "never stay in a 2-star hotel" was actually fine with it. The breakfast was moderate, but even if you're not keen on hotel food, there are plenty of restaurants within eyesight, and plenty more within walking distance. It sits near the downtown, so was always easy to navigate to and from during my stay there. feel free to talk with the staff and the people you're staying with and it'll be even more enjoyable. The place is quite old but the room I had has been recently refurbished. The bathroom needs new tiles, but that is really a cosmetic issue. The breakfast was fine.

The room was sparse but clean and quiet, the mattress was firm and the price was reasonable. One thing different was that the floors were laminate, not carpeted. I don't think anyone was in the room above me but I wonder, had there been, how noisy would their footsteps have been? Not much in the amenity dept; the shampoo came in packets like ketchup […] in a take-out order of fries and the bars of soap were tiny. Nonetheless, all I wanted was a comfortable bed in a quiet room for a decent price and I got it. The only thing that wasn't great was that they didn't start serving the free, continental breakfast until 7:30 a.m. which is much too late for people on business who have to get up and going early. This is a basic motel.. bed linen clean, some fixtures not particularly good..e.g. the pop-up part of the sink didn't work and we question the toilet paper holder being on the opposite side of the room from the toilet? The staff is always very hospitable and friendly and were able to acommodate my coeliac condition by providing fruit for breakfast.

after driving hours in the fog and rain and being late for our event the manager said he would not honour the rate I got and that it was a mistake on the website. For the price this hotel is good value. The manager was very friendly and very willing to please. The manager was also very approachable if any issue arose. The recent renovation of this facility has resulted in the hot and cold taps being installed in reverse.

Our experience at the H.J. Inn, Vernon, BC, was very good. The room was clean with a firm mattress for a good night's sleep. The morning continental breakfast was tasty with good choices. The hosts and staff were very cordial.

Continental breakfast was quite decent. Some of the rooms have been largely updated with laminate flooring, small frig and m/w and one cup coffeemaker. Mattress was very good quality. Room was tastefully decorated and the majority of the furniture was near new. The TV, however, was very OLD, as were the two easy chairs. The room was smallish but had all we needed. Some updates to the room were laminate floors, new granite vanity top and a flat screen tv. Bed was a comfy kingsize. Stayed here for 2 nights over high ski season (Jan 30/31). For a cheap stay it is great. Clean rooms, no real complaints, hot tub was a nice bonus. We did not use the pool but it looked fine.

Hotel manager was very accomodating. We got there early and had a wedding to go to at 3:30. We were able to check in at 11 am. Staff was extremely friendly and very helpful with all our requests. The only thing that needs improving is the plumbing. The toilet didn't flush very well.

We were in town for a funeral and only staying for two nights. The hotel staff were great, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good (make your own waffles), plus a selection of cereals, breads and fruit... fresh and tasty. The treadmill (one) was not operational and we didn't check out the pool or sauna but it looked ok. In light of the […] treadmill not working I took a run outdoors which was right along the highway to downtown which is lovely. We didn't experience any issues with traffic noise from the nearby highway, this was a plus considering how close it was. The room was clean and comfortable but definitely needed updating. We could hear noise from the other rooms and from outside. The remote control for the tv did not work properly. But the front desk service was good and over all I can't complain about the price.
