"Big tourist hotel but wonderful location"
We warned the hotel of a very late arrival. There was no one at the door to help with our bags or to park the car. It took nearly 30 minutes to get our keys even though there was no one ahead of us in line. There was only one desk clerk who had to check us in and answer all the calls to the front desk. "Decent hotel"
This was a nice hotel overall. It's really close to Valletta, less than a 10 minute walk gets you right in to the heart of the city. The one annoying problem we had was that we wanted to use the indoor jacuzzi but the water was cold. We told them about this multiple times but they never did anything about it. "Not my idea of a five star hotel."
on the negative side of our stay at this hotel. We were given a room that was not suitable for 3people one of which was a 12yr old girl and she was given a camp bed to sleep on! When I went down to ask for another room I was told we shall change her bed and see what we can do. We shall be in contact with you very soon. The bed was changed for another […] style of camp bed and no one from the hotel contacted us about the change of our room. We stayed in this room for our weeks stay. On our 2nd last day I had to go down to reception at 8 15pm to enquire as to why it was that our room had not been cleaned at all that day despite the fact that I had left the PLEASE MAKE UP MY ROOM tag on the door, I waited as long as I could, but by this time we needed our room cleaned so we could use it! The cleaner came up and was trying to blame someone else for her mistake, I found the whole episode unprofessional and not the standards I would expect of a 5star hotel. On the positive side they left a complimentry bottle of wine that evening to say sorry! I found a lot of the waiting staff and bar staff untrained and unsure of themselves and their duties again not to the standards of a 5star hotel. The hotel itself was clean and plush, no expense was spared to decorate and it was Idealy situated for exploring the island. Beliggenheten er perfekt, det tar bare få min å gå til gamlebyen eller hoved bussholdeplassen. Vi hadde et fint opphold på hotellet. Vi fikk vann, kunne lage te/kaffe på rommet, og alle fikk små søte sjokolader ved senga etter rengjøring på kvelden. Det at vi ikke trengte å ta med håndklær var veldig bra. Her hadde de alt du trengte. Jeg satt pris på bassengområdet, der jeg kunne trene så mye jeg ville. Morgenbuffeten var nydelig. WIr waren über die Feiertage in Malta. Vom Hotel ist man zu Fuss in wenigen MInuten in der Stadt. Leider war der Indoor Pool etwas sehr kalt, sodass wir ihn nicht mehr benutzten. Pour le reste : taxis ou voiture de location (attention à la conduite à gauche) Environs : la vue n'est pas sur la mer mais sur un canal portuaire (celui de la Marina) et les ruines d'un fort. The hotel is beautifully located close to the city of Valletta. Only 5-10 minutes walk up a small hill. Great with the option of swimming in either the pool or the sea. Excellent facilities and service. If you dont fancy restaurant guests looking into your hotel room, and can skip the seaview I would recommend room 852. The only minus I have is that […] the drinks served at breakfast is not the coldest, and the food is a bit salty for my taste - but I am picky. The car service with the Cadillacs is superb.
