Not great, but not bad either. Most everything was closed while we were there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"good and bad"
Overall it was a pleasant weekend. However there are a few itemas of concern. The hotel was very warm. For cold weather wear, it was unbearable. I could have worn shorts and tank top and been comfortable. Room was tiny tiny tiny We ate at Stickneys and thought it was over priced. The food was mostly good. Scallop special was too salty so the server […] took off the coffee to compensate. Really? The staff was wonderful! Problem- there were 3 weddings at the same time that kept us away from some areas we wanted to congregate in- great hall areas Over all we felt nickel and dimed for a luxury hotel. Room service needs work reading the beverages...... Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"disappointing"
The rooms were disappointing. The breakfast was the worst I ever ate. The pizza was good.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Classic old hotel"
We enjoyed the ambiance and classic style of the hotel. The bathroon in our room was a bit dirty. The temperature in our room was hard to control (old heating system). Restaurants were pricey and required reservations.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Mountain Retreat"
It is a grand hotel, but in need of much renovations and just plain maitenance. For the money we paid for the accommodations I believe it could have been alot better. Air Conditioning is lacking in alot of the public areas(lobby, lower level shops and restaurants). It is a breathtaking view and surroundings which did make up for what was lacking. The […] food at all the hotel restaurants was superb.. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Kinda nice"
It kinda reminded me of and made me feel like I was at the resort that is in Dirty Dancing. So if your looking for that kind of hotel, then it would be great for you. I would rather have a more laid back stay where I can go eat dinner wearing shorts and a t-shirt and a big must have for me is having a balcony, which this place doesn't have. Made me […] feel like I was staying in a closet with a bed and bathroom. 300 sf really isn't that big. But I always wanted to stay there and now I can say I did. Nest time I'll stay at The Lodge though. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Food at the Mt Washington Hotel"
During a two day stay which included a wedding reception we found the food to be at best inconsistent. The food was never as hot as it should have been and on the breakfast buffet that was especially true.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not quite the resort experience we expected"
I would not call this a resort in the true sense of the word. Check in was great but from there it went down hill. Very few of the staff seemed happy to be working here. We had difficulty getting into the restaurants not because they were full but they had no staff to clear the tables. The staff seemed indifferent. It was a busy holiday weekend but […] at a hotel like this you would have expected them to be better prepared. We ended up driving off site for dinner one night and skipping the long line for a breakfast buffet the next morning. The hotel is beautiful and the amenities great hopefully the staff will come around or perhaps a new GM is in order. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice views, but wouldn't stay here again"
I thought the hotel was pretty and there were nice views, but we probably wouldn't stay here again. I think it's a nice place to have a meal though and a walk around. We had a lovely meal on the veranda, which had a beautiful view of the mountains. Reasons: - The service was okay, but seemed very disorganized. For example, at check-in, only one person […] was working and they had lost the previous guest's reservation, so I waited 15 minutes to check in with a long line of grumbling guest behind me in line. Then the valet got mad at me for taking so long. It seems like there should be some communication there between the check in and the valet/doorman. - We didn't get very much sleep because the fire alarm went off 2 times at night. We had to leave our room for about 45 minutes each time. They let us sleep on the couches in the lobby, but at 2am, it would have been nice to sleep in a bed. Plus - there was a large horn blaring - so you really couldn't sleep. Some things to consider: - Men need to wear a jacket to dine at the restaurant in the hotel. It is "resort casual" at another restaurant on the grounds. There is also a veranda where you can order food. - There is an amenities fee that is not included with the hotel nightly fee. I'm not sure if they change by person or by night. It can add up though over several days. - We are in our early 30's, and we were a good 10 years younger than the minimum average age of the guests. It feels like at older demographic at this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overall Review"
The surrounding area is beautiful, but for the price, I was dissapointed in the quality of bath towels. Had we not gone there for a wedding, would never make the drive up.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
