"No real shuttle service!"
The shuttle service to the airport can only be used when you first check in or after you have checked out. If you stay more than one night and want to go to the airport every day where the closest subway station is, you are on your own. I used the bus one day to go to the airport and it took more than 2 hours on a Sunday. The shuttle is also not a real […] shuttle. It is a regular van with pieces of paper taped to the windows that display the name of this hotel. I almost missed this small van at the airport because I was looking for a more professional looking vehicle. The refrigerator in the room did not work and the shower made a very loud whistling noise. "great if you have a car"
Very happy with the service. Room was clean and comfortable. Just be aware that the hotel is far from the airport and train. You need up have a car and be prepared to use it if you stay here. I requested a smoke free room and when we arrived after diving 14 hours, I was told they were.out of smoke free rooms. The room smelled terrible and the night clerk was not very accomodating and I had to go back to the.front desk to get sheets for the sofa bed. "Feels like home"
The double-bed suite is beyond our expectations: clean, quiet, and pretty spacious. The free airport shuttle is very convenient, too! What's more, the hotel is just next door to the Japanese supermarket Mitsuwa. The staff are very friendly also. Although clean, the rugs and furniture were worn out. On one of the mornings when we went down to breakfast, there was no coffee, juice, muffins, pastries of any kind, eggs or hot cereals. It's a nice place to stay. Location of the hotel is not far from Chicago loop area. Lots of variety dinning options nearby (some are within walking distance). I went there for a pleasure trip of Chicago ans stayed for 3 nights. It took only 25 min (max) to reach Navy Pier, Hancock observatory, Chicago river cruise dock etc. Hotel rate is cheaoer than […] any downtown hotel. Only thing i felt that the Breakfast / dinning area of the hotel need to be expanded becoz during rush hour it become crowded. Only one elevator was working. Thats why the wait time was little more. We chose this hotel based on lots of positive reviews and the price compared to staying downtown which is where we spent our time. Was not happy with our check in experience that we came in at 12:30am due to getting lost (our fault), but they told me they only had one room left and it was smoking and I had requested non-smoking. I felt that I had to […] pay for the room whether I showed up or not and they shouldn't have given it away. Would they have given away the last room too? At that time of the night we took the room and were told they would move us the next day to non-smoking. The room was filthy. The next day when we came back to get our new room the people working acted like they had no idea we were to be moved even though we were told our things would be moved to our new room. We eventually did get a non-smoking room and it was more clean, but still not great. The breakfast was okay and they were helpful with finding out some information on an area we were wanting to go to. It was only a two night stay otherwise I would have looked to stay elsewhere, but was not happy with the situation and I never talked to a manager because the times I was there I never saw one. Pretty good. A 30 minute drive from downtown but worth the drive and the price we paid. Comfortable, great location(close to Baskin Robbins and other great restaurants) and a 10 minute drive from the airport. Breakfast was great, saved up on money.
