The holiday inn express had a good sized room, the hortel was clean and staff helpful.The cleanliness of the room was very good and it was a comfortable room to spend an evening. Recommended.

Friendly reception staff on arrival and was able to check in early, which was appreciated. The hotel is modern and very clean in an out of town soulless business park location. Nice spacious room with lovely power shower (no bath). We had a comfortable, quiet night, but sound insulation could be a problem if noisy inconsiderate guests had been staying. Used Meole Brace park and ride 5mins drive away to spend the day in Shrewsbury. I was going to a concert at Theatre Severn so just wanted somewhere to wash, change, sleep and have breakfast. The Holiday Inn Express fitted the bill perfectly. Yes, the hot breakfast didn't comprise of a great deal, basically sausage, scrambled egg and beans but you could have as much as you wanted and there was plenty of the usual stuff, cereals, […] toasts, fruit, pastries, drinks so it was well worth the money. Room had everything you needed, hairdryer, iron/board, towels, shampoo, conditioner & bodywash etc so again very good value. We had a great stay at this hotel before a friend's wedding. Had an issue with water running cold in the sink taps but shower temperature was fine and room very comfortable. The hotel is a bit out of the way so not that easy to get into town without a car or taxi.

Very clean throughout. Our bed was a bit too soft for our liking leading to a stiff back in the morning. Breakfast was OK, with the plates, cutlery, gleaming clean which is a nice change. Just a £4.80 cab ride into town. Lovely and quiet whereas I think the town centre places would be noisy.

Great place to stay if you are passing through as easy to get on and off main highways. Very difficult to find as signage faces away from the direction you approach from. Breakfast was excellent. Good size of rooms.

Bedrooms were excellent had everything required for your stay, staff were curteous and friendly and were able to help with anything requested. The big downside of the hotel was the evening menu - the food was worse then horrendous - food prepared elsewhere then brought into hotel and heated up. It was awful!!

The hotel's location just off the A5 makes it an ideal choice for a stopover. The facilities are fairly basic but good value for the price charged. The rooms are a good size and very clean.

Not bad at all. This hotel is to a better standard than your average travelodge. Large room, massive bed, excellent large shower (no bath). very good all round. Good breakfast. Breakfast area is small though and choice of cooked stuff is limited to bacon, scrammbed eggs, mini hash browns and beans. Pleanty of toast, rolls, cerials etc though. Hotel […] was clean, staff were excellent. Easy check in and out. The biggest issue we had was with the pillows, they were rubbish, but for some reason most hotel pillows are! Had a stiff neck from them. apart from that it was fine. I would say they need a few signs to direct you into the business park and through it to the hotel. There are a few issues with the finish of the building, it has been specified to a high standard but thrown up (this may have something to do with it burning to the ground just before completion and being totally re-built all over again) it has also had 3 owners in it's short history. There are lots of bits to keep the maintenance staff occupied, a leaking gutter joint, failed grount in the bathroom floor, badly fitted windows etc. The most basic of chaep white switches and sockets do not do this hotel any justice at all too. Oh and there is no lightning protection which is most unusual for a modern building. These are issues to management need to consider, but not the sorts of things to affect your stay. All serices work fine. Staff are excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone as a good value hotel offering all the basics well with a bit more luxury than your average modern hotel. Location is a business park on the edge of town on the A5. Not a good location, but convenient and free parking. Easy access to town by bus or taxi though. Read more
