Waters Edge Resort at Pacific Rim

This was a get away weekend during the Whale Festival. I'm a solo traveller and found this to be a wonderful setting. You have to drive to most spots to see in Ucluelet including the beaches and the trails, but that could be said about all locations - and this setting is worth that. The hotel has a great location, wonderfully designed rooms and nice staff. The only thing I really had issues with was the pull-out-sofabed that was horribly uncomfortable. Having asked for a 2-bed-room and then not being able to use it was not a good experience.

Great location. Lots of room. Great view from windows and hot-tub on the deck. Beds and carpeting should be replaced. Friendly, helpful staff. Kayaks and bikes available for no extra charge. Can walk into town to restaurants. We shopped at the Co-op and made meals in our condo. Would stay here again.

We stayed for 5 nights. Beautiful location overlooking the little harbour on one side and the bay on the other. Eagles often flying by our 3rd story window. The only down side was the lack of kitchen items, very barebones. onsite use of kayaks and bikes is a fabulous addition. Would go back in a second...

The Waters Edge is a multitude of condo units,some privately owned, company owned and some permanent residences all in the mix. Very nice location and reasonably priced compared to many of the other resorts in the area. Our condo unit faced the inlet view which I favored over the harbor view. We stayed for 2 nights In which time we saw a bear,bald eagle, […] otter and many fishing boats from our picture window. The resort is conveniently located to the Pacific Rim Trail and there are a couple of great restuarants close by. (Offshore was my favorite). Overall, our stay was pleasant, but our fireplace did not work either night and it would have bee lovely to enjoy it w/ a glass of wine in the cool evenings. I would stay here again, but the next time I would take advantage of the free use of their kayaks. Read more

had a lovely room with a wonderful view of Uculet Bay. Hot tub on patio...fireplace...all worked well. Only thing I could say is that the hot tub could have been hotter but we ran out of hot water. However our son had a bath prior to filling it, so that may have had an impact. Great hotel, nice staff.

We enjoyed our stay. The room was neat and tidy. View of the bay was beautiful. The staff was very nice. WIFI was slow but that was not the reason we were there. Overall a very nice time.

I cannot say enough good things about Water's edge resort. Room was great with a kitchen, balcony and private hot tub! Free laundry, Free use of Kayaks. Great location where we watched Bald Eagles fly over the water right outside our window. Low key Ucluelet was pleasant and close to hikes, beach and tide pooling. I would go back in a MINUTE.

the only thing was that I was glad we didn't have our large pick up truck as it would not have fit in the parking spot. (203) Would have even been conjested with the car if there were more of the spots being used. Beautiful place. We were very comfortable.

The initial room was probably as described, but very disappointing -- balcony (was in fact a half balcony, with room for only one chair, and dark); the view promised was a small view of water - when the tide was in). After paying an additional $40 I was upgraded to a very very nice suite -- full bedroom, dining room, kitchen, living room, big balcony […] and much better view. Our stay was very restful and relaxed. No one came in to clean everyday, which some might find disappointing, but I appreciated the comfort and privacy of knowing it was 'just ours' for the duration of the stay , with no outsider coming in. There were plenty of towels and everything we needed. The tv was very small and dated, but we didn't come for […] that. The luxury of our own personal bubble tub on our deck overlooking a little inlet on the east side of uclulet, made it all so lovely and private. We didn't even need to draw our blinds!! I would definately recommend it to someone, for a nice place to stay that is affordable but with a relaxed elegance Ucluelet is much bigger than we realized and has a lot to offer. Overall, our stay at the resort was a good experience. The resort us in a beautiful setting and well maintained. The only thing lacking in the room was a washer and dryer, which is essential when you have young children especially after a couple days playing on the beaches.

The hotel suites are three to a unit (the ones we stayed in anyway) and they all had a great view of the ocean. The 1 bedroom suite that we had was large and had a full kitchen with full size oven, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker. There was a gas fireplace and a good quality sofa bed which my kids used. Would go back and […] recommend for sure. If you were coming to stay to storm watch from your room this would not be good for that as you look out onto the inlet, not the wide open Pacific Ocean. But you would be sheltered enough during those storms as to not be woken up all night with the blowing wind. This way you can rise early and head out with your feet to storm watch. We ended up having good weather and no storm to watch, but the beach combing and hiking trails are awesome in the Pacific Rim National Reserve nearby. Don't miss them. Read more

We had two adults and two teenagers in a one bedroom luxury suite. It was very comfortable, clean and convenient to town. With a full kitchen, we could prepare our own meals and they offered free DVDs for the kids to enjoy. I feel that we got good value for the money and we'd definitely return and recommend it to our friends.

Very nice accomodation, unfortunately it rained most of the time, but we still had a good time. Spent time on Long Beach shell picking and watching the large waves roll in. Food in the area was supreme and we enjoyed dinning at the Schooner Restaurant.

Fourth visit and again a great place to stay. It is close to the town of Ucluelet (about 10 mins walk). Condo is well equipped and very nice. Two types of views available: The bay and the marina. Ucluelet is not a busy and touristy town like Tofino. It is a fisherman town. It is about 40 Kms away from Tofino and 15 Kms from the Pacific Rim beaches. […] If your intent is to go to the Pacific Rim beaches, Ucluelet is a better bet in cost versus Tofino which is quite pricey. However, if you are looking for night life, then Tofino would be a better bet. The resort is a good place for couples who wish to have some quiet time. It is equiped with bicycles, kayaks, a BQQ, & hot tub for each unit. If you like hiking, the Wild Pacific Trail is one of the nicest trails I have seen in the area. Our twin bedroom luxury suite overlooked the water, the view was fabulous through three picture windows combined with a hot tub on the balcony. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped. I felt the rooms were quite minimalistic in decor with their white walls and lack of wall art, I had expected the rooms to be quite extravagant for the price that was […] paid,but all in all they were fine. On arrival into the suite,no radio channels were available due to no aerial being fitted and the furniture in the room faced inwards towards the tv, with warnings not to rotate the furniture towards the fabulous view windows which you have just paid for. A bright starry sky reflected on the still midnight waters making the view even more pleasurable. Apart from small harbour lights, the bay was in darkness. Inclusive use of bicycles and kayaks provided adventure if needed. The town of Ucluelet is small and spread out, with pacific coast walks,fishing,boating along with peace and quiet being the towns main strengths, a well equipped co-op store provides cook at home provisions if required, along with a fuel station to top up before that long drive back to the east coast. All in all a very enjoyable stay but a little expensive, the view however out of those picture windows made up for it and was very memorable. We wouldn't stay in Ucluelet again but will certainly remember the short enjoyable stay we had. A good choice if you want peace and tranquility. Read more
