Situated on a rocky outcropping in Tofino- on the West Coast of Vancouver Island- the Wickaninnish Inn is blessed with a fabulous panoramic view. The hotel stands between the Pacific Ocean- Chesterman beach and a forest of giant evergreens. The design of its two buildings was entrusted to several artists- including the celebrated wood carver Henry Nolla- with the aim of blending art- nature and culture. The rooms with their cedar wood paneling- stone fireplaces and big bay windows- offer grandiose views of the waves breaking on the shore. After a plant or marine-based treatment and an initiation to sea kayaking- you could even set off to see schools of whales just a few miles offshore. This hotel is closed for business January 2 through the 7th 2010 reopening for arrivals January 8th The hotel will also be closed from January 2nd through the 6 th 2011 reopening to arrivals January 7th 2011 CLUB 5C- Hotel welcomes Relais and Chateaux Club 5C members with a VIP Welcome and a Discovery Privilege. Please include the Club 5C membership number in the reservation and please show your Club 5C membership card on arrival.

Loved my stay at "The Wick" with great food & local wine, great sleep and great service. Only downsides were the addition of taxes when Hotels.com sold the price inclusive of taxes...but taxes were added on top, and there was initially poor explanation of shuttle costs. It did rain throughout my stay but I only noticed that upon seeing my photos!

Overall the resort was lovely and our stay was beautiful. However, we did find the beds a little too soft for our liking and woke up every morning with a sore back. Otherwise, the amenties were impecable.

Tofino is a very special place in terms of its spectacular surroundings and remoteness. Staying at the Wickaninnish Inn is the icing on the cake, adding to the unforgettable experience, with its location on the shore of a beautiful bay, its welcoming staff and its exquisitely tasteful rooms. Wichininnish Inn is a fantastic hotel to enjoy the marvels of nature and the ocean side irrespective of the weather be it hot, sunny, and calm, or turbulent with crashing waves, darkness, and dense fog.
