The Oswego was a really nice hotel. Location is great, just a block or two from the ferry. The hotel seems super new. The staff helped us book tickets... to Buchart Gardens. Our room had an awesome view of the mountains. The breakfast in the restaurant downstairs was really good and reasonably priced. The only cons was the room was a bit dusty and there was no air condition. They did have an extra fan in the room. by VonStar from Alabama on 07/10/11

Set in downtown Victoria, the Oswego Hotel is within 2 blocks of the Royal BC Museum, the Inner Harbour, Parliament Buildings, and Pacific Undersea Gardens. Chinatown and the Maritime Museum of British Columbia are both less than 2 km away.

Hotel Features.
The 10-story Oswego Hotel's contemporary lobby provides complimentary fruit-infused water, a 24-hour front desk, and complimentary newspapers. O Bistro specializes in cocktails and West Coast-style tapas, with indoor or terrace dining available. The hotel offers event space for up to 20 guests, as well as complimentary wireless Internet access throughout. A 24-hour fitness room has strength-training and cardio machines. Parking is available in an onsite garage (surcharge). Oswego Hotel is entirely smoke-free.

I have stayed at this hotel twice. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. Terrific robes that actually fit! The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms had a well stocked kitchen including a french press coffee maker - finally, good in-room coffee! A bowl of apples in the room is a nice touch. The neighborhood is good and close to ferry & tourist […] areas as well as a grocery store. My only complaint is that there is quite a bit of noise from the outside. I stayed in one room on the frontside of the hotel, the delivery trucks woke me every morning at 7am and on the back side of the hotel, the sea planes can be heard taking off from the harbor at 7:30am. From the outside, the hotel looks really nice and felt quaint. At this time of the year, the room was boiling hot with no air conditioning and was unbearable to be in. Also the gym was a joke. We would not stay here again.

I had a great stay at the Oswego Hotel in Victoria this past weekend. The hotel is just a couple blocks off the main hotel strip. However, it is COMPLETELY worth it. The hotel was clean, quiet well decorated and the staff was very friendly. Christian, the Concierge was especially kind, helpful and went way out of his way to help with trip planning […] and other daily details. That guy deserves a big raise! Lovely staff, super friendly and helpful. The location couldn't have been better. The parking was a great bonus, in and out privelage not every hotel offers (usually just a marker on your dash!) The room was very nice - felt like we were staying in a mini apartment! Plus the bathroom was the nicest I'd seen in a hotel - granted I don't stay in hotels […] all the time; maybe three or four times a year. We loved our stay at the Oswego Hotel. It was within easy walking distance from the city bus that took us in to Victoria from the ferry. We walked to the beach, enjoyed the beautiful walk along Dallas Road, Beacon Hill Park, and the downtown core. We love Victoria and visit a 3 - 4 times a year - this is now our go to spot to stay. The rooms are lovely, clean and spacious and we really appreciate the convenience of an in room kitchen. The location is perfect, within walking distance to everything down town Victoria. The staff are very friendly, helpful and professional. Great Place!!

The hotel facility was excellent except for the murphy beds. For the cost of the unit, a more comfortable hotel quality box spring and mattress bed would have been expected. Other that that, everything was great.

Excellent hotel, new and clean. Big rooms with all facilities you can imagine. Only catch is that they tried to charge for parking even though there was no mention of any extra charge when I booked. They waived it when I explained but very annoying to have to fight for this on arrival!

I would really suggest that this hotel get air conditioning. The rooms were extremely warm. The ceiling fan helped but it wasn't quite enough. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the rooms were very clean and roomy. We definitely enjoyed our stay.
