Excellent hotel. Met all our requirements. No surprises. The kitchenette was very helpful for us - we could get food from the market on Yates street and enjoy. I liked the inviting touch of having a red and white wine in the room on check-in. Quiet and being a block away from the harbor was good - 5 min walk to the ferry (M/V Coho).

We loved this hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and very very accommodating when we were debating about changing our reservation dates. They put up with our indecisiveness while one of our kids was up in the room throwing up. We really enjoyed the beautiful view from our room...which was so comfortable we didn't want to leave. The restaurant food was delicious and the staff offered suggestions were to go site seeing. Go to "the Stick in the mud" for great coffee ...and the Vienna Bakery for Tasty treats and great coffee too!

This hotel was great. The room upgrade (to a two bedroom suite) was unexpected. Everything was about as good as you could expect. Short drive to the downtown shopping & restaurants. Did not have a view of the harbor, but that was minor. Would go back if we ever get to Victoria again.

Excellent location. Helpful staff. Good food in a pleasant environment. Convenient, secure parking. Room had a well-stocked, well-maintained kitchenette suitable for preparing our own breakfasts--one of the best. Some guests might be put off by the Murphy bed; but it was comfortable enough. Downside: noisy--street noise and v. noisy window AC unit.

The hotel was two short blocks from the Victoria Ferry berth and within walking distance to the Fisherman's Village, Empress, BC Museum and Parliament Bldg. The kitchen was supplied with quality cooking tools, appliances, dishes, glasses and flatware. Even a french press coffee maker with an excellent daily coffee packet . The staff at the Oswego was excellent. We were offered an upgrade when we checked in and were delighted with the suite. Everything was convenient. We would highly recommend the Oswego if you are visiting Victoria. The parking garage was immaculate and safe.

We stayed in Oswego hotel for 2 nights. The location is very convenient for people arriving from Seattle on Victoria Clipper. Hotel is located 2 blocks from docks. The suites are well decorated and spacious. The first day I came back after a whole day of sight seeing to a room which was not cleaned by housekeeping service. The cleaning service was done […] for the day and left hotel, I was told when inquired the reception. However, the house manager arranged someone to clean the room. And later they sent chocolate truffles along with a card with an apology. I was very happy with the effort they put in to rectify the oversight of one person. Ask for rooms in top floors for wonderful ocean views. I will definitely stay here again. Read more

We stayed at the Oswego Hotel May 17-18, 2011 and were extremely pleased with the hotel, it's perfect location, and staff. The only thing we were not pleased with is that the mattress on the Murphy bed in our studio suite was hard as a rock. When we mentioned this to hotel staff we were informed that the mattresses had been changed only a year ago and […] that the regular rooms had different mattresses. The one bedroom suite had a nice kitchen but the kettle did not work. The bed was okay, but not great. The furnishings were cheap looking, but the windows were large and the location was great. This hotel was great. It was clean, spacious and had everything that we needed (except a hot tub). I would recommend it to anyone. The only downsides were that itsa 5-8 minute walk to the heart of downtown and the pillows and bed were not the best. Other than that, perfect.

My wife and I just came back from a trip to Victoria with my parents, and we were delighted with the Oswego Hotel. The rooms were large, clean, and had an extremely comfortable feel to them -- from the furniture to the kitchenette. The service was also spectacular, culminating in the hotel's insistence on hand-delivering my wife's hot chocolate to […] our room for no charge when they found out it was our anniversary. Location-wise, the hotel is just two blocks off the harbor, putting it in walking distance for every place we wanted to go in the city center. Making things even more convenient, the hotel has a garage for guests and the overnight parking charge was extremely reasonable. We will definitely be staying at the Oswego Hotel on our next trip to Victoria. Read more

The overall look and feel of the guestroom lived up to our expectation based on the pictures and descriptions provided. The unit was clean and did not have any unpleasant odor. The floorplan is comparable to a one bedroom apartment with a separate shower and tub in the bathroom. There was no wireless internet access in the room, but not a big deal. We […] got a unit on the 3rd Flr of the hotel (the hotel has a total of 10 floors) for the rate that we paid and the length of the stay. The floor has a supply room which was accessed frequently by the staff in the morning. The staff at the check-in desk seemed very friendly and greeted us as we first entered the hotel. We only spent one night in Victoria BC. The hotel room is equipped with a full kitchen which included cookware and utensils and would definitely have been more ideal for a longer-term stay. The Oswego is very convenient to the Victoria Clipper ferry to/from Seattle - just a couple blocks away from the terminal. It's also within easy walking distance (once you've deposited your luggage) to the Inner Harbour area where most of the tourist activities are. This is a lovely hotel in a great area - within walking distance to the main shopping area with restaurants etc. The room was lovely - only negatives is the bed, as other reviewers had mentioned, this was a pull down type of bed but we found it comfortable enough and we both have bad backs. I went to Victoria with my 18 year old son to look at the University. The Oswego was perfect. It gave us enough room, privacy and connivence for a very comfortable stay. It was only a 15 minute drive to the University, and one block from the inner harbour and down town. We will definitely be staying there again.

We specifically requested a quiet room before checkin and were given probably the loudest room in the hotel. The front desk agent even assured us it was quiet at checkin. It was on the 2nd floor, right over the entrance, facing the busiest street. Furthermore, the room directly across the hall had a party that lasted from about 5 p.m. until 5 a.m.! […] The room itself was nice and bright, but the constant noise soured our experience. We are frequent travelers to Victoria and have stayed in many hotels, and this was by far the loudest room we've ever experienced which is unfortunate since it's in the quietest neighborhood (compared to hotels that are directly downtown).
