Third story, with no elevator. No air conditioning. Not doable for a senior in 26'c weather. Switched over to the Huntingdon, still no AC and badly in need of updating but we managed. Gatsby needs to more accurately portray its facility. Very disappointed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Gatsby Mansion Inn in Victoria BC"
We were really looking forward to staying at Gatsby Mansion Inn but were very dissapointed. We arrived at midnight and I had called to let them know we were checking in late but they didn't tell us they wouldn't be available to check us in .We were looking around to see where we were supposed to go and one of the workers from the Huntining Hotel was […] walking through the yard and we asked him so he directed us to the hotel and told us the Gasby Inn is closed.They gave us our room and we had to carry our suitcases up three flights of stairs as there is no elevator in this place.When we got to our room there was no shower just a tub, we had meetings to attend at 7am. After our mtg we went to the front desk at Gatsby Inn and asked if we could have a room with a shower, the lady looking after it sure wasn't very friendly it was like we were bothering her. We have travelled all over and I don't remember ever having someone like this. When they finally gave us a room it was suppose to be a superior room we went in and the room hadn't even been made up from the last occupants, that was a dissapointment. We reported it and they said they would have someone make it up.The room was quite a bit smaller than the other room and there was no dresser to put our clothes in and very little closet space. The next time we are in Victoria we will not be staying there.The restaurant was very good. The staff at the Gatsby is not very friendly it's like your in the way.They need to train their staff better, this is a tourist area so they need to be friendlier.
