"Supper 8 in Victoria"
Hotel is in need of major work. Carpets are all worn and dirty, furniture old and worn and stained. Staff just didn't seem to care. Close to the mall and downtown, and on the main street, but not a great part of town.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Some noted disappointments"
My spouse and I stayed in this hotel for business, and it was a typical cheap hotel, but our major stipulation was finding a reasonably priced hotel with free wifi. We were sorely disappointed. The wifi signal was extremely weak and wavered between barely-there to nonexistent. We attempted several times to connect while it showed up, but it kept prompting […] for a password. The one the clerk gave us was not working. When we contacted the desk, they were very unhelpful, and said to keep trying to connect. Well, with the code not working and the signal repeatedly disappearing, you can't keep trying anything when there is no signal to connect to! We ended up having to use the data on our phone to connect to the internet for the duration of our trip. Registration was fast and we were in our room in very quick time to rest from our journey. Enjoyed your free breakfast to get our day started for the business we had to do for that day. "Good value for your dollar"
Service was excellent, bath and room was comfortable and clean. Only some rug stains that could have been removed. Only drawback was parking was on a lower level than entrance, so you had to use stairs to get to car, or walk down the car ramp.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel door sign invites intruders!"
The hotel was dated, the furniture was old and crappy, the bathroom counter formica was peeling off because the chipboard underneath had swelled up, but that wasn't the worst part. In the middle of the night they place a sign on the unlocked front door stating that the reception desk is unmanned and to call if you want to reach them. The room was very simple and decently clean. The wifi connection in the room was not very good however and we lost the signal very often. Continental breakfast was fine but don't expect a wide selection. Overall the stay was Ok but you should only really sleep here.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Our expereince was pretty decent, elevator is scary, first room we got was a tad dirty but they were very helpful and got a clean asap. Front desk was helpful, they do lock their doors in the latter part of the evening so you may have to wait a few minutes if you are getting in from the Bar. Nice older hotel, small & that includes the rooms . Wood structure so it's a little creaky. Almost empty my entire stay. The only time there was more than 5 cars in the parking lot was during the Sunday Brunch when the parking lot was full. It is not the Empress but the price is not the Empress either.
