The tastefully appointed guestrooms, renovated in 2012, are furnished with comfort in mind. Chateau Victoria has a lot going for it. Clive's, the lobby bar, has just been rated one of the best in the world, and when you visit you will see why. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfy. Plus the people that work at the hotel and friendly and fun. I stayed for a few nights and walked everywhere in Victoria. Nothing is too far away. "Chateau Victoria- A Fantastic Choice for Victoria,"
Had an excellent one-night stay at the Chateau Victoria, wish we could have stayed longer! Exterior is older looking, but the lobby is lovely and Clive's Lounge had a nice atmosphere. The location was an easy walk to all the popular spots. I reserved a "Junior Suite" which offered the choice between a queen size bed *or* a pull-out sofa bed! Odd, I […] thought, but I selected the queen size bed which was a step up from the full-size bed offered in the standard room. We were pleasantly surprised to open the door to our room which was more like a one bedroom apartment complete with kitchenette and dining area, living room with large TV and a bedroom with a king size bed and TV as well! The bed was more comfortable than mine at home! We had a balcony that didn't have the most scenic view, but was nice all the same! A little disappointed that the hot tub was closed for cleaning, but the front desk staff were super nice and let us take a dip in the pool after we checked out and they held our luggage in a secure room. "Steps away from downtown Victoria"
My husband and I had a great time in Victoria, BC at the Chateau Victoria. We were amazed how close we were to downtown Victoria. We saw the back of the Empress Hotel from our balcony and a great view of the city. We were on the 7th floor (I read previous reviews to stay above the 6th floor since the ones below were noisy and I can see why when we went […] to the hot tub). Our room had French doors that go into the bedroom which was an added bonus, it was really fancy. We were a little disapointed that the bal wish the balcony didn't have furniture out there so we could hang out, but we did improvise and brough the 2 chairs that they have inside with the table out. Everything was nice and clean and everyone was really friendly. Plus, there is a free shuttle from the Victoria Clipper which was a nice surprise (even though we walked to the ferry on the way back since it only takes about 15 mins. you are that close). Walking into the hotel was an excellent experience. A fountain out front, someone to hold the door for us as we walked in, and a very polite person at the front desk. After all of that, the room we got was underwhelming. My wife and I stayed up quite late talking by the ocean and the hotel staff was vacuuming the halls shortly after 9am. "Get the ROYAL Treatment!"
I've stayed in so many hotels, but this is THE BEST IN VICTORIA. Amenities were a luscious pool and hot tub as well as a fitness center and a business center on the guest levels. Their Junior Suite was actually bigger than our apartment! The junior suite surprisingly contains a real stove, oven, fridge, freezer, pots, pans, utencils, etc. There is […] a gorgeous dining room, and living room as well. The rooms in the suite were absolutely flawlessly clean! My boyfriend and I are neat freaks and nit-pickers, but we were amazed by how perfect everything was! The staff is extremely polite and helpful. In advance, I requested a corner suite. Low and behold, our room was a very nice corner suite. We also came to the hotel a little early, with the intention of just dropping off our bags at the front desk. The girl at the desk was delighted to share that our room was ready for us, and we could check in early! The bed and bedding were FABULOUS. I've never slept that well in my entire life. "Chateau Victoria ~ Great Stay"
We stayed at this hotel for 3 days....and it was a fantastic experience. With so many hotels in the surrounding area you would be hard pressed to find one with more value and sevice. The front desk staff were friendly and very helpful and the room itself was top notch...I suggest staying in rm 1502!!! Spacious with a great view. "Weekend Getaway"
We stayed in one of the smaller rooms, but that was what we were looking for. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable. The fridge in the room made a vibrating noise and we fixed the problem by unplugging the fridge at night. The shower drain was plugged as well, which maintenance fixed PDQ. No problems after that. I've stayed there twice and was impressed the first time but not the second. We got checked in 1/2 hour after check-in time and they did not seem overly concerned about that. The location is awsome if you want to be close the inner harbour and all the best touristy stuff but if you want quiet it might not be your place. The first night we had a standard room and the door banged everytime our neighbour opened and closed their door. The girls across the hall were noisy and we could hear them through our door and theirs. In […] the morning we talked to the manager but because we booked through hotel.ca they couldn't discount our rate but they did move us to a 1 bedroom suite. Awsome and quiet! From then on our trip improved. It is a lovely hotel. There was a charge for parking but if you book directly with the hotel they waive that but it was cheaper to book via hotels.ca. "Chateau Victoria - a comfortable, relaxing stay"
We stayed for one night at this hotel on the weekend before Easter. We got there a bit early and the lady at the reception said our room (junior suite) wasn't ready yet but that we could get a complimentary upgrade to a one-bedroom suite. We took it of course!
