"A great choice"
The hotel (short-stay apartments, actually) was great. Staff were very accommodating. We had two separate bookings, with a 4 day trip to Tassie in between. They kept our large luggage for us while we were gone, no charge, and when we returned late in the evening for our second stay, they had brought our luggage to our new room. So lovely! The location […] is relatively convenient to all things in the CBD, though not central. The plus to that is it is quiet. The down side is you walk a few more blocks than you might otherwise. The reason I gave maintenance a 4 and not a 5 is while there is a sign in the lift urging residents to use their ventilation fans over the stovetop, ours did not work in either room we had. Also, be forewarned: the washer/drier in the room will take HOURS--as in 5 hours--to complete a single load, and is very loud. Better to use the laundrymat on the first floor. The hotel is very well located, only five minutes from Victoria Markets, close to tram lines and yet still in a reasonably quiet area. I booked through Expedia to stay at City Tempo for a three night stay in Melbourne. The parking if coming by car is very reasonably priced and just across the road from the hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and always happy to help. The rooms were clean and comfortable with the added bonus of a kitchen. We stayed in City Tempo apartments for 5 nights in Sep/Oct 2011. The apartments themselves are clean, modern and well equipped (hob, dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, kettle, iron, ironing board, hoover, etc.). The facilities in the building - including gym, laundry, and computer room are also good. The apartments are a good 15-20 minute walk from […] the main attractions and going out spots in Melbourne, but they are close to the free trams that circle the city centre every 10-15 minutes from 9-5 each day.
