"Old and Musty"

I stayed at this hotel for two days. It was the same rate as La Quinta (two blocks away), but its quality was far lower. 1. The construction (and paint) of the walls and hallways is old and poorly done. 2. The wireless internet access was slow at best (for a short time), and then stopped working completely. 3. Clean room, traffic heavy from nearby streets but convenient to airport. desk guy doesn't try hard, could have told me the elevator is closed off after 10 PM and could have volunteered precise info that's needed for internet connection so that I would have to call back with failed connection. "Serves its purpose"

This hotel is really 'tired' and in need of updating. The bed 'linens' looked like they had been reclaimed from a local shelter. "Afraid to use the hot tub."

The hotel is just old and not well kept. The walls are thin and you can hear luggage in the hallways a mile away. Common area carpets were not clean. The staff was pleasant enough. "Keep looking...."
Lobby was really nice....That was all that was nice. The room smelled and the hotel was loud! The only bonus to the hotel was that it was close to restaurants and the airport. "OK for a quick stay. Don't expect a lot from staff"
The bones of this hotel are fine, especially if you're just over-nighting to get to or from the airport. The rooms and common spaces appear to be relatively clean and are comfortable enough. You certainly get what you pay for. The shuttle service is convenient and the shuttle drivers universally pleasant. My one caveat would be in regards to the staff […] and services. The wireless internet barely worked when I was there and when I called the front desk to ask about it the person on the other end of the phone was aggressive and unhelpful. When I tried to go to the restaurant at eight thirty, which was advertised as being open until ten, I found they were closed and playing cards. The person at the front desk was unhelpful until pressed, then they finally forked over a take-out menu for a local Chinese food place (which was fine, by the way). I thought the hotel was not kept up very well. I went to use the fitness room and it looked like no one had entered that room in years. Most of the equipment was damaged and dusty and the floor was full of miscellaneous debris. The only persons I would recommend this hotel/Inn to are budget minded and not comfort orientated people. The reason I would recommend this hotel to a friend is because it is inexpensive compared to most the hotels closest to the airport and the fact that it does offer the Airport bus (which is a free service as a guest) and the staff are pleasant enough. […] Other than that, it is older and it shows, my tv did not work, it was very cold (I could not find a thermostate anywhere) and the bedding was mediocore at best. Have stayed here a few times in the past but found hotel has not been upgraded since then-certainly not our room. Although for a very short stay (two times) leaving and arriving back at Vancouver Airport we found the hotel adequate-and reasonably priced, it does leave some things to be desired. We found the room felt like it had not been thoroughly cleaned, and sheets were wrinkled and well worn and would not stay tucked in. The shampoo was partialy used as well […] as some other minor concerns. In fairness, the staff was very friendly and we were told we were given an upgrade and maybe that is the case The desk clerk did call and ask us if everything was okay and we said yes as we did not want to have to move to another room when our stay was only for about 8 hours.
