I had the kids out for the night and picked La Quinta since it had what looked like a nice indoor pool from the pictures on the Hotels.com website. What the website didn't show was that the pool heater was broken. My kids that are used to swimming in the cold ocean water only lasted 3 minutes and the rest of our evening was full of unhappy kids. "good except for animals"
The stay was typical,friendly staff,decent room and breakfast. However,on several occasions my wife and I were accosted by dogs,including in the dining area. "Fine Stay..."
An average hotel nothing special.. The free breakfast was simple carb heavy with waffles and biscuits and gravy being the main dishes. The place was dog friendly which was really nice. When we arrived the desk clerk was no where to be found, the bellhop kept looking for her (15 mins. later she appeared) to check us in. Upon entering our room, we were immmediately hit by the smell of smoke!!!!! It was in the curtains, carpet and even the shower curtain!! For the price this hotel was adequate. My family was disappointed that the pool was closed all weekend. I understand that things happen. Not real sure how well they really clean. We did not use coffer maker every day but did use our cups, but they we're not replaced everyday. The remote to the TV was made into the bed. We stayed 6 nights and on our last day checking to make sure we did not miss anything we found a Ross bag behind the chair. The lobby is very attractive in a woodsy, fireplace lodge effect. My room had a sink in the room not the bathroom. "Great hotel, but watch out for theft from vehicles"
This hotel is a great deal, staff is great, breakfast is great, room is great BUT and I stress BUT do NOT leave anything in your vehicle. We had our van broken into at 1:45 am by the suspect smashing a side window. We were parked in the front of the hotel with full lighting and surveillance active. The items they took had no street value (souvenirs, […] reading glasses) but they don't care. Another vehicle was also broken into the same night, and much more was taken. The pet-friendly hotel is in good shape and clean. The front desk was polite and helpful. The beds are comfortable. The pool was warm but no hot tub. Our room was dimely lit making reading difficult.
