"Room ok - Pool broke"
I had the kids out for the night and picked La Quinta since it had what looked like a nice indoor pool from the pictures on the Hotels.com website. What the website didn't show was that the pool heater was broken. My kids that are used to swimming in the cold ocean water only lasted 3 minutes and the rest of our evening was full of unhappy kids. "good except for animals"
The stay was typical,friendly staff,decent room and breakfast. However,on several occasions my wife and I were accosted by dogs,including in the dining area. The animal actually tried to jump on me while I was eating. the other incident occured in the elevator,2 on a leash also jumping on people.None of the pets were service animals,but what got me […] was the staff would not do anything to resolve the issue(I metioned the dining room incident at the desk). "Fine Stay..."
An average hotel nothing special.. The free breakfast was simple carb heavy with waffles and biscuits and gravy being the main dishes. The place was dog friendly which was really nice. "Ok for a place to crash"
This was an ok place, not as nice as a lot of other La Quintas I've stayed at. The room was clean, but they only had feather pillows - they actually had NO synthetic pillows at all (they said that guests kept taking them). As the title says, we got in around 9ish but the night desk person talked much too fast and seemed rather 'programed' in telling about the information of the hotel. The check-in staff was very helpful and friendly. I was not happy with housekeeping--I asked for extra towels and they brought them, but then didn't replace them the next day. One of the days, only one bed was made and the other just left unmade. It didn't appear the floor was vacuumed at all during our stay. When we arrived the desk clerk was no where to be found, the bellhop kept looking for her (15 mins. later she appeared) to check us in. Upon entering our room, we were immmediately hit by the smell of smoke!!!!! It was in the curtains, carpet and even the shower curtain!! If you're a light sleeper you will be awake through the night by the freeway noise. For the price this hotel was adequate. My family was disappointed that the pool was closed all weekend. I understand that things happen. Not real sure how well they really clean. We did not use coffer maker every day but did use our cups, but they we're not replaced everyday. The remote to the TV was made into the bed. We stayed 6 nights and on our last day checking to make sure we did not miss anything we found a Ross bag behind the chair. It had new items in it, believe it was left […] from the guest before us, maybe Christmas present that they wanted to hide or fell behind chair. The lobby is very attractive in a woodsy, fireplace lodge effect. My room had a sink in the room not the bathroom. The bathroom was my only disappointment as it was small, showing age, tight to get into as the door nearly swings to touch the toilet. "Great hotel, but watch out for theft from vehicles"
This hotel is a great deal, staff is great, breakfast is great, room is great BUT and I stress BUT do NOT leave anything in your vehicle. We had our van broken into at 1:45 am by the suspect smashing a side window. We were parked in the front of the hotel with full lighting and surveillance active. The items they took had no street value (souvenirs, […] reading glasses) but they don't care. Another vehicle was also broken into the same night, and much more was taken. The pet-friendly hotel is in good shape and clean. The front desk was polite and helpful. The beds are comfortable. The pool was warm but no hot tub. Our room was dimely lit making reading difficult.
