"Close to freeway"
I could not call the front desk from the phone in my room. Mentioned it several times, was still not repaired by the time I checked out. This is very dangerous is there was a serious emergency. There were a number of little things that were not quite right. The service was slow. There were never towels in the pool area, so you had to go to front desk and wait. "There's a difference between inexpensive and cheap"
No elevator so you have to climb stairs. Lots of seedy types staying here. Saw a group of gang members walking down the hall with a pit bull on a leash. They had to hold him down to keep him from attacking while I walked by. Lots of tattoo wearing, piercing, shaved head types staying in this hotel and I was NOT happy about it. Night One: Was awakened […] by yelling and slamming of doors in the room next to me. The racket continued for several hours until I beat on the wall. Then I was able to get sleep after I calmed down. Staff was just "okay". TV remote didn't work. I had to get up to change the channel and turn the television on and off. The phone by the bed didn't work. All in all? "My weekend"
The best part of my stay here was the very pleasant and curteous young man at the desk. He was very polite and made us feel welcome, however, upon check out Saturday morning, the woman was rude! My niece forgot her pillow in the room and when we went back to get it, housekeeping said they never found it! It was only in a blue wolf pillowcase! "Convenient"
Hotel was nothing more than a place to lay our heads at best. Hotel needs to be renovated. There was NO elevator so stairs was the fare of the day. Hotel caters to what they call weekly's instead of the regular traveler, which should of been clarified prior to us booking. Would we stay there again, most likely not. The hotel itself was not bad however they did not have an elevator. I booked my elderly mother there and did not realize that there were still hotels w/o an elevator. I was very difficult for her to navigate the stairs. We also met a disabled person who we had to help get his luggage up for him. He too did not see the notice on it when he booked his […] room. Staff were all very friendly. The room we stayed in was not clean. Carpet and walls had stains, which looked like blood stains. The mattress was not comfortable. "You get what you pay for"
I guess I should have known from the low price that there was something not okay... The hotel was not as clean or presentable as the pictures made it out to be. You could tell from the smell of the hallway that there had been a lot of smoking rooms available. Staff were friendly, but not very helpful. Pictures showed hairdryers in the rooms. We had […] no iron, ironing board or dryer. We did get an iron and a board to use, but I asked three times for a hairdryer before I finally called the second day and was told that she forgot and they didn't have any available. Breakfast was decent, but not great. It was nice to have a fridge and microwave, but the fridge broke the second day. The air conditioner was ridiculously loud and didn't work well either. "Unsafe hotel to stay in, no security"
When I booked online, I booked a room with a refridgerator & microwave, when I called to ask what size the refridgerator was they told me that people who book through hotels.com don't get rooms with refridgerators & microwaves. I couldn't change the reservation as it as a special rate with a no refundable reservation. So we had to take a large cooler. […] They put us on the 2nd floor in a hotel with no elevator, we had to haul the cooler up 2 flights of stairs for 3 days for a softball tournament. No security, the locked side doors to the hotel were propped open all the time, allowing anyone to come in & out & hotel was located right next to a large mall. I told them at the front desk about the doors and they said they would watch & keep them closed, but every time we went outside, they were propped open. On the first night there, someone broke out the back window of our van. We were parked in the parking lot right under a large light. When I went in to get a garbage bag from the front desk to clean up the glass, the girl at the front desk told me "oh yeah, I saw that broken window". But they didn't even contact us & tell us even though they took our license plate number when we checked in and it had started to rain. And of course, they don't have insurance to cover any damage to your car. Breakfast bar was never stocked well because it was the person at the front desk who did it and if she was busy at the desk, she couldn't restock the breakfast items. The rooms were spacious, but the sheets did not fit the beds, and after 5 minutes in the bed, they came off and you were sleeping on the mattress. All in all about the worst experience I have had with a hotel I have booked through hotels.com. "Close to the Mall"
The hallway smelled of cigarette smoke but our non-smoking rooms did not. The beds were nice but the chairs were very uncomfortable. We called ahead to make sure the pool and hot tub would be working and were assured they would be. They both were not working when we arrived. We had to go to a nearby hotel and use theirs. The breakfast lacked hot items, […] but was OK. It was easy to find, the Mall was right across the parking lot, and staff was nice. I don't think we will stay again though because of the cons.
