"Average room in older hotel"
Was a nice inexpensive room. Thats all I needed and expected for $63.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The place has been redecorated, but there are still a few things needing replacement. We were unable to plug in our phone chargers and laptop to any outlets because they were all so worn out that the plugs would not stay in. All around the room, the outlets were all loose.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice view!"
Did not appreciate guest service answering personal phone while checking me in. Would prefer flat screen television? Besides that great view and great price. But would be upset if I paid regular price for the room I gotGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Red Lion Hotel at the Quay Thank you for your feedback. We do appreciate the chance to better understand our guests perception of our staff and our facility. We do not have a date as to when we will upgrade to flat screen televisions yet, but it is in the works. Although I was not present during your check in, I would like to share the fact that we use Verizon flip phones as our communication radios between departments. It may have been an inter communication call you witnessed during check in. Thank you for pointing this out though, because if it appears to our guests that staff are taking personal calls this is not a great impression. Thank you again for your response. I'm glad you enjoyed the view, we look forward to seeing you again!
The room was comfortable but well used, it smelled a bit musty. The train and plane noise was quite loud and frequent. The parkinglot seemed very dark.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Red Lion Hotel at the Quay Thank you very much for your review. I am sorry to hear that our location did not meet your expectations on this occasion. We value your feedback and we will take it into consideration when evaluating how we can improve our guest service. I hope that you will consider staying with us again in the future. Some areas of the hotel are exposed to noise more than others. You are welcome to request a room that offers less exposure to outside noise. We strive to make each guest stay as comfortable as possible!

First room had a broken aircontrol unit. However they did change us to another room when maintenace failed to fix it. That aircontrol unit was stuck at 85 but it was better than being cold so we stuck with it. It was only for one night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Surly staff but a fine place to lay your head"
All we wanted from this hotel was a place to lay our heads during a whirlwind trip to Portland. The hotel itself was fine. Just what you would expect. The housekeeping staff was friendly enough. It was the front desk where everything fell down. We weren't greeted so much as tolerated and then the clerk started bickering with her (much more helpful) […] co-worker. We were glad to get out and on our way. The next morning on checkout, I would have loved to have been advised by the (otherwise innocuous) front desk clerk that there was a marathon blocking all exits to the parking lot and I may as well take a walk on the waterfront. Alas, there was no interest in going any extra mile. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful location, run down hotel"
While the location of the hotel was pristine, the condition was not. We constantly had to request a new key card as our lock would not open. This proved to be a big hassle as we were traveling with our dogs and needed to let them out to potty. The maid service was sparce. When they did clean it was our bathroom only. Out of our two beds, only one was […] made. Confusing. I would not stay again were I given the choice. Disappointing stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

hotel was clean and the rooms were comfortable but it was not in a good neighborhood and we could hear the train going by all night long.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice setting, dated average hotel."
Room was very small. Older facility. Nice area with good views. Rates pretty good for the area. Room was in good condition, but the public areas were kinda run down. Probably would not stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Hotel was nice and clean, but i think some of the restaurant stuff needs to be trained for a better end fast service.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Overall ok"
Overall this hotel wasn't bad. It was neat to look outside and see the river and bridges, and it was really close to the airport and easy to get to. Our room was ok and generally clean. The only downside was the fridge smelled TERRIBLE, but that was luck of the draw. The other rooms our family were in didn't have that issue. The major downside to this […] hotel was just the noise. If you're a light sleeper or don't like loud noises I wouldn't recommend this place. You had sounds from the boats on the river, the planes from the airport, the traffic noise from the nearby bridge, the train noise from the train tracks nearby, and to top it off, the bridges would make a very loud sound when they opened for boats. They do provide earplugs for free though in case it is a little too loud for you. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Adequate"
I have stayed in many Red Lion hotels and generally really enjoy them. This one was clean, friendly, and overall "O.K." but the room was VERY small. Barely room to walk around the beds. It did have a walk out sliding glass door though which made it convenient to take the dog out. Too bad there was barely room for a dog crate in the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Long in the tooth, but the food was great."
This hotel has been there a long time. The brightest part of my stay was the breakfast in the restaurant. It cost $7.50 and included coffee. The chef took great care and detail. When the waitress placed the food on my table, it looked as tasted like a Million $$$.Genuine Expedia guest review
"The restaurant was the hotel's best feature. The facility of the dining room and hotel needed work."
We were very pleased with the service and quality of food at the restaurant in the hotel. It was in an old tall ship motif, which was neat, but some of the wood work needed sanding and refinishing. The service in the hotel was fine, but the arrangement of rooms was pretty inconvenient. You had to walk a rather long hallway to get outside in the elements […] and then another walk around the building to get to the main hotel area. Also, the carpet needed replacing, and with a design and color that is pleasing to the eye, that is coordinated with the walls. The one presently looks like something out of an old west movie or a mortuary. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The hotel itself looks to be in the process of a remodel . Our room was nice however maid service didnt happen and when we asked we were told anyone staying more than one night doesnt get daily cleaning or even new towels !! The restaurant in the hotel was ok ~~ The club was fun and the band they had playing that night was a lot of fun. Hotel is in […] walking distance to a lot of things!! We didnt get to use the pool but it looked to be ok --- just a pool though no hottub! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Red Lion - Vancouver"
Great hotel with pillow-top beds. But the sheets were not big enough for the mattress. Not a good night sleep always fighting the sheets. Also had room service knocking on our door early delivering breakfast to the wrong room. Following morning, housekeeping knocking to see if we were checked out yet. A short knock then opening the door. This was at […] 9:00 am and we were getting dressed. Not very good customer service Red Lion. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Red Lion Hotel at the Quay"
My reservation was for a poolside room and I ended up in a room next to train tracks. I was there for business and could not get a good nights sleep with the train coming through at 2AM every morning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Red Lion at the Quay--pretty, but small"
The staff were nice and friendly. The room was clean and elegant looking, but it was very small. The bathroom was microscopic. You had to scoot to one side in order to close the door behind you. It reminded me of an airplane toilet. It had a pretty good location with a few restaurants within walking distance.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"average - not impressed"
the view was nice but it is an older property and looks it. clean rooms. no hot tub and the pool was outdoors and packed with screaming kids until 10 p.m. OK for an overnight stay but for the price the breakfast should have been included.Genuine Expedia guest review
